Lunchtime special!

We went to the Rock Fort at lunchtime on recommendation of a local. We didn't have a reservation but it was no problem (this time!) The special (16€) was beouf bourginon with a dressed green salad and frites. We chose Belgian beer rather than wine and it hit the spot.

We dined here on our eleventh anniversary on a short trip to the city as it was recommended by our B&B host. We phoned a few hours before and secured a bar table as the restaurant was full and this was a Monday, so booking advisable. Food and wine were delicious, waiters were attentive, ambience modern and bright, and not... More

Attended with a work colleague. Had the 4 course surprise set menu 55 Euros. You can find out what it is first if you like. Modern bright interior.

We went here for dinner and were lucky that we booked that morning as we got the last table which looked into the kitchen. It was fascinating to watch the chefs at work. The waitress (who was efficient but not over-friendly) offered us the 4 course 'Chefs Menu' at €55 per head or we could choose dishes from the 'small,... More

We visited Rock Fort for our anniversary dinner. Immediately we were welcomed by a chorus of Flemish, an extremely reassuring sign that you've found a locals place. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous, taking the time to read out the wine menu was in Flemish only. The concise menu is easily digested due to it's simplicity as small, medium and... More

We managed to get the last bar table in this popular place and decided to order from the tapas menu. The food was very good, particularly the toasts with tuna and anchovies. It also had a nice atmosphere, even on a Thursday night in January when Bruges is quiet.

Not your average old city Bistro, we arrived on a cool Tuesday night in January, the old city was empty but the restaurant was not. No reservations meant a seat at the bar, about 20 min later we were invited to sit at a table. The appetizer was Imberico Ham washed down with a local Pils; great stuff. Next was... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel when we couldn't get a reservation at another place. With only 3 hours notice, we could not get a table but had two reserved chairs at the bar. Aside from being cold when the doors opened, it was still a great spot. It was fun to watch the bartenders make some... More

We visited Rock Fort based on the recommendation from the app 'Where Chef's Eat'. Luckily they were able to seat us at the bar last minute and enjoy a fabulous dinner. I had the sea bass ceviche which was a truly amazing dish, perhaps the best I've had all year. Packed with flavour and a terrific combination of salty ceviche,... More
