We managed to get the last bar table in this popular place and decided to order from the tapas menu. The food was very good, particularly the toasts with tuna and anchovies. It also had a nice atmosphere, even on a Thursday night in January when Bruges is quiet.

Not your average old city Bistro, we arrived on a cool Tuesday night in January, the old city was empty but the restaurant was not. No reservations meant a seat at the bar, about 20 min later we were invited to sit at a table. The appetizer was Imberico Ham washed down with a local Pils; great stuff. Next was... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel when we couldn't get a reservation at another place. With only 3 hours notice, we could not get a table but had two reserved chairs at the bar. Aside from being cold when the doors opened, it was still a great spot. It was fun to watch the bartenders make some... More

We visited Rock Fort based on the recommendation from the app 'Where Chef's Eat'. Luckily they were able to seat us at the bar last minute and enjoy a fabulous dinner. I had the sea bass ceviche which was a truly amazing dish, perhaps the best I've had all year. Packed with flavour and a terrific combination of salty ceviche,... More

Took some customers here after a recommendation by a colleague that lives in Bruges. Certainly wasn't disappointed. The food was of a high tankard and the service attentive. The restaurant had a really good feel. Not too pretentious, clean and modern. Would definitely return either with customers or family

We stayed four nights in Bruges. The food and service at Rock Fort was by far the best and full of locals. We also tried the more touristy restaurants and got what we expected! If we go back to Bruges then Rock Fort will be top of our list. You need to book.

went here for my husbands 50th dinner, booked on the back of tripadvisor comments and also a review in a guide book. smallish and very hot, but that doesnt stop me heavily recommending this place. the staff were fantastic and our waiter (poss one of the owners I think) was very helpful, spoke great English and described the food well.... After having gone two nights to highly rated restaurants that spent too much time on reductions and decorations, and not enough time on quality of taste, going to Rock Fort was one of the more spectacular surprises of this trip to Bruges. My companion and I split three starters and two larger dishes. Our server, who we discovered is a... More
