Best meal in Bruges!

The restaurant was beautiful and felt authentic and traditional Japanese. The staff were friendly and helpful in advising on our choice of tea and food. The restaurant was beautiful and felt authentic and traditional Japanese. The staff were friendly and helpful in advising on our choice of tea and food. We were able to review the raw ingredients of our tepanyaki and had the most delicious rare beef. Japanese pickles were beautiful too. Although very pricey, this was well worth it!

If we ever visit Bruges again, this place is definetely on the to do list! Really good food in a nice atmosphere. We were there for lunch and had the Bento Box, which contains all kinds of Japanese food - perfect for people who can't decide what to order from the menu or if you want to try something else... We went here yesterday and went for the luch menu. We all took something different and afterwards everybody was very pleased with their choises. First you get an appetiser, then a starter, a miso soup (which was one of the best i had), the main course with rice and pickles and a dessert. The lunch menu's are a bit under... More

Finally managed to have a table after many tries. Were not disappointed by the excellent food and friendly service but ... Stayed nearly 3 hours at our table to get a nice menu with small portions ... and a very expensive bill ! Great place but slighty overated.

Simply love this restaurant. Excellent food with attention to detail in a nice atmosphere. Try to sit in front of the kitchen to see the chef prepare his tepanyaki dishes. Fresh, authentic dishes for a reasonabale price. Already looking forward to go back.

I’ve been several times in Japan and I always enjoyed the special atmosphere and interior decoration in Japanese restaurants as well as their food. Together with my son and his Japanese wife we went to the Japanese restaurant Tanuki in Bruges and discovered immediately all these wonderful experiences again. In general Japanese restaurants are expensive so is Tanuki, but we... More

So, the hors d'oeuvre was a bit expensive or the small amount of food you got, but it was perfect when it comes to taste. The main course on the other hand, was huge! We ordered shabu shabu, and thought at first we wouldn't have enough. But they soon went by and added vegetables, bouillon and meat! Fine quality, good... More

Actually we won lunch for 2 persons in this Japanese restaurant a while ago. I took the Bento box menu which is splendid (see picture): 2 layers of very good and very light food. You eat a lot of different things, portions are ok, but when you finish the meal, you´re not feeling you ate too much. Dessert was a... More

Oh dear, what a disappointment! We ordered their 80 Euro per head chef's selection menu expecting a feast. The courses varied between uninspiring and fairly good but this was as good as it got. The service was pleasant but incredibly slow, taking 3.5h, yes 3.5h from start to finish. This might be understandable if the portions were huge - but... More
