This is a lunch/afternoon dining coffee salon. They do salads and pasta and pastries and ice cream and the food is fantastic. They only opened in December 09 but they are people who care about food and know food. It's down a little side street in Brugge. We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch there last Monday

Lovely!

Very nice place! We loved their cappuccino and chocolate cake. The men who are running the place are very friendly. There are seats outside which look romantic. It's a bit expensive (cappuccino is 4,50), but worth it.

This cafe could be doing excellent business if the staff was a bit more friendly and the prices were more realistic. There are 2 men running this cute cafe. One is very friendly and the other is not too nice. The food was good, but was totally overpriced. The interior and outside seating is very nice, but does not justify... More

Everything is just so. The salads are excellent and the tea/cakes wonderful. Great atmosphere and right in the city centre yet slightly off the beaten track.

We just had actually the SAME problem as Richard. We were 4 girls ordering a drink and chitchatting and this horrible and rude men came to our table (after having gone to the table next to us and screamed something in Dutch to a family) and told us that this was not a bar and that we could not stay... Stopped for a coffee and thank goodness we did.Got to be one of the best coffees we have had in a coffee salon and the food and cakes looked exquisite too but unfortunately we were not ready for lunch at the time. The coffee came with a tasty biscuit and a whipped coffee cream to dip into and was not overpriced.You... Don't expect fantastically polite service, but do expect delicate pastries and delicious hot chocolates. We didn't experience any specific rudeness but two elderly ladies who just wanted one coffee were told 'we don't do that here' and were forced to order something. We were told our bill at the end was 12 euros for two hot chocolates which to me... More

We had some time to kill before traveling and fancied a coffee stop on our way to the railway station. I had a place in mind but spotted Merveilleux tucked down a side street. Great selection of teas and other speciality drinks. Tables were already reserved, as I suspect this is a popular place for lunch as well as their... More

We visited this place twice on our trip to Bruges because we loved the crepes (with lemon and sugar is best!) and the hot chocolate. It's also full of locals rather than tourists which is always a good sign, and we were able to lounge about and take our time rather than feeling rushed through our meal.

Merveilleux was recommended to me by a colleague who grew up in Bruges. Myself and two friends went for lunch, and had made a reservation as the place was very busy. It was absolutely beautiful. Wonderful decor and ambience. Delicious lunch, beautifully presented and just the right size. They serve a wide range of tea and I ordered Kusmi almond... More

What a find! This little lunch place in Bruges is fabulous. We had a superb salad lunch there and went back twice more during our stay and were always made to feel welcome. They also recommended restaurants to us for the evening which were excellent. The menu here is small but varied and everything looked good and smelled divine! Would... More
