This is a lunch/afternoon dining coffee salon. They do salads and pasta and pastries and ice cream and the food is fantastic. They only opened in December 09 but they are people who care about food and know food. It's down a little side street in Brugge. We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch there last Monday

Worth seeking out .

We visited this place twice on our trip to Bruges because we loved the crepes (with lemon and sugar is best!) and the hot chocolate. It's also full of locals rather than tourists which is always a good sign, and we were able to lounge about and take our time rather than feeling rushed through our meal.

Merveilleux was recommended to me by a colleague who grew up in Bruges. Myself and two friends went for lunch, and had made a reservation as the place was very busy. It was absolutely beautiful. Wonderful decor and ambience. Delicious lunch, beautifully presented and just the right size. They serve a wide range of tea and I ordered Kusmi almond... More

What a find! This little lunch place in Bruges is fabulous. We had a superb salad lunch there and went back twice more during our stay and were always made to feel welcome. They also recommended restaurants to us for the evening which were excellent. The menu here is small but varied and everything looked good and smelled divine! Would... More

When my pregnant wife our sun, one year old in stroller, and me arrived, the owner of the place came out and without any apologies he ordered us to leave as we would take to much of his space on the terrace. What a terrible way to handle your customers. Never seen such an impolite restaurant owner. Sending away a... More

Thanks to the Bruges guide we came across this lovely little coffee shop. We would never have thought to go there otherwise, as it was a little side street off from the high street. We had cappuccino which came with a shot glass of delicious chocolate mouse, and also had couple of their gorgeous dainty cakes. They also serve other... More

This is a small bistro - a little off the beaten track. We went twice and everything was perfect: a warm goat's cheese and caramelised apple salad, and the best hot chocolate imaginable. It also serves food all day (well between 11 and 6) which is very civilised for the tourist.

Lovely tea house with excellent service, we went twice, the first time we thought the hot chocolate was expensive at around 9 euro's, but it arrived on a tray in a silver pot, accompanied by a home made buiscuit, and a shot glass of delicious chocolate mousse, it was gorgeous thick and frothy rich hot chocolate, probably the best I... My husband, friend and I came into this place fifteen minutes before closing. We were cold and foot sore from walking all day. We had heard that this place had the best hot chocolate and were hoping to try it. Unsure if we would be served, we were told that they could give us three hot chocolates in that time... More

My wife and I happened across this little Salon on a rainy afternoon in Bruges. We had a cappuccino and a tea, and it cost €9 - expensive but well worth it, and we went back for more the next day. Each drink came with a delicious shortbread biscuit and a swirl of chocolate mousse. We could see this was... More
