Wandering beyond the central tourist area of Bruges does wonders for food quality and service. On a soggy late afternoon, I had the house beer and macaroni and cheese (tasty and filling) on a cold, wet and windy day, and was warmed by both the food and atmosphere. My wife had soup and a Belgian dubbel, both of which were... More

Here I tried only beers and coffee. This pub is the oldest in Brugge and it has a unique character, very charming and is frecuented for locals mostly. Very rare if we think this is supposed to be an attraction. They have a wide selection of beers and of course you will find some company for sharing a moment if... More

Spent our last evening in Brugge here. Wanted to check it out as it is the oldest pub in Brugge. It is back an alley, off the road, but easy to get to and can be seen from the road. This is a neighborhood pub and seemed to be a family favorite. Tables are family style and we had a... More

Spent yesterday evening and this afternoon in the beautiful sun trap of a garden ☀️ Lovely beer and a nice glass of cava. Selection of games to play, we played backgammon for hours. Had lasagne and cheese and pickles which were both lovely. Very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

This somewhat hidden pub, is well worth a visit. Purported to be the oldest pub in Brugge (opened in 1515), it retains an authentic pub charm. The inside is spacious, with large windows overlooking the patio area and flooding the room with light. Outside looked great, but we weren't able to experience it due to the rainy weather. In addition... More

When I walked inside through the narrow alley with my cousin who was in worked in Bruge for 4 years I was a bit sceptical. However, as soon as I entered the pub , I was astoniashed to see the ambience. It looked like a prized vintage place - straight from the courts of noblemen and kings. The beer had... More

Get away from the market trap and try this out. Beer selection is great, cheap and has a chill vibe. Snacks available and really feels authentic.

This is a great place to go to get a real feel for Bruges--hard to beat a pub that's been around since 1515. In our two visits we had appetizers, salads, pasta & a sandwich. The salads are fantastic & the pesto pasta was delicious, but we don't get the attraction to Croque Monsieur (grilled ham & cheese) sandwiches which... More

After a day of travel I wanted a good beer and simple meal. Herberg Vlissinghe delivered with a great beer selection and a nice menu of snacks (cheese and salami plate was great) and pub food (spaghetti bolognese also great). Warm wood-paneled bar area and lawn-like outdoor seating provides an inviting, fun atmosphere.

Very cool beer pub in Bruges. There's seating on the patio, or in the cozy wood-trimmed pub. The food is basic pub food -- pastas, toasties-- with good beer selections. We both had the basic spaghetti, which was good. It was just a super-relaxing place to hangout away from the tourist crowds.
