Good food

Found this by mistake whilst wandering and stopped as my partner was hungry. We sat outside as it was a nice day and he had the meatballs with mash, and I had the shrimp croquettes as I was only a bit peckish. The food was good, and they gave us free chips which was nice. Service was quick and... read more

food was good. Wine was good. Decor and noise level fine. 2/3 tourists. Families with kids all under control. Wait staff very serious, almost stuffy. I don't think they smiled the whole night. We are quiet respectful travelers, but we didn't feel "invited" in by any means. Our expensive hotel booked the dinner and we got a great table but... More

Away from the main drag but not far this cute little restaurant is a great find. Recommended by a friend who used to live in Belgium. Friendly service and quirky decor. Food was delicious- must try the Flemish stew. I couldn't finish it but kept trying as it was so good! Beautiful rich flavour and huge chunks of meat. Good... More

An interesting restaurant, though slightly dark with lots of nooks and cranneys. The entrees are very large as are the main meals. The Belgian stew is very rich - my daughter had the rabbit stew whilst I had the beef stew - both were delicious

We found this restaurant down a side road off the centre of Bruge. Downstairs was full and we were shown upstairs into an empty room - slightly disconcerting at first - however, the waiter assured us it would be full shortly - true to his word it was. The wine I ordered was of good quality. I had a Flemish... More

We visited this restaurant early on a Sunday evening looking forward to traditional Belgium food. The restaurant was quite empty and we requested a table by the window. We were abruptly told one table was for the 4 and the others not ready yet. We asked could they prepare the table for 2 in the window and the waiter again... More

What a pleasant change from the poorer, overpriced restaurants in the square! The quaint little restaurant advertises its quality ingredients and asks you to be patient as its all freshly cooked. The service was a little slow - even by Belgian standards. I expect to be offered a drink and a menu quite quickly - close to fifteen mins! This... More

We went here with a group of 10. The menu is nothing fancy but honest Flemish fare: meat stew, shrimp croquettes, fish stew and home made fries (not frozen). We all had a great time.

This restaurant is not very customer orientated. No kids portions.kids forced to eat adult portions. Not even allowed to share a portion. Forced to eat even when not hungry. Waited for a simple salad almost an hour. Restaurant owner will tell you that's law in Belgium that you must eat in a restaurant-it is actually not.we had to get police as... More

Very enjoyable dinner but the Flemish stew was a bit bland. The pate was great and the wine was flowing. Not bad, not great, overall a decent meal.
