Good food

Found this by mistake whilst wandering and stopped as my partner was hungry. We sat outside as it was a nice day and he had the meatballs with mash, and I had the shrimp croquettes as I was only a bit peckish. The food was good, and they gave us free chips which was nice. Service was quick and... read more

Location is a bit outside the direct center of Bruges and therefore prices are at a lower level. Food is really good. I had a delicious beef stew, but the chicken breast one of my friends had was also recommendable.

We were meandering through Bruges looking for a suitable restaurant, when down a side street we noticed a few people hurrying into the De Vlaamsche. On the basis that they 'knew something' we followed, and although downstairs was full, we were shown upstairs to one of a few small rooms. Great atmosphere, nice staff, and despite what other reviews have... More

I booked a trip to Bruges to celebrate my sister's birthday. We walked into the restaurant without reservation, hoping to enjoy the birthday meal in this famous Flemish restaurant. Luckily we were "granted" a table in the little courtyard (not the main room". It was nice and quiet and I had no complaints about that. We read from the menus... More

Waited for 40 minutes between starter and main, when asked about the main we were told that we need to rest between starter and main. Although starters were delicious the main was not good. It is overpriced for the service and quality. Bruges has much nicer restaurants.

We asked for a salad and to share a main course. We were told sharing was against policy. Ok, so we ordered a second main course even though we knew it would be too much food. However at the table next to us a gentleman had a salad and no other course. We found out later that one could do... More

We visited De Vlaamsche Pot on recommendation from the owners of our B and B, La Corneille. It was a great recommendation. A lovely romantic little restaurant for an evening meal. Although there were couples and families, it was intimate and cute. Situated in one of the little side streets, the lights in the windows are welcoming as you walk... More

food was good. Wine was good. Decor and noise level fine. 2/3 tourists. Families with kids all under control. Wait staff very serious, almost stuffy. I don't think they smiled the whole night. We are quiet respectful travelers, but we didn't feel "invited" in by any means. Our expensive hotel booked the dinner and we got a great table but... More

Away from the main drag but not far this cute little restaurant is a great find. Recommended by a friend who used to live in Belgium. Friendly service and quirky decor. Food was delicious- must try the Flemish stew. I couldn't finish it but kept trying as it was so good! Beautiful rich flavour and huge chunks of meat. Good... More

An interesting restaurant, though slightly dark with lots of nooks and cranneys. The entrees are very large as are the main meals. The Belgian stew is very rich - my daughter had the rabbit stew whilst I had the beef stew - both were delicious
