Very cosy

Arrived in Bruges on a cold, wet, February evening and were directed to De Vlaamsche Pot by our hotel owner. The restaurant is perfect for a cosy evening out of the rain, with enormous portions of food, beautifully cooked. Not the cheapest though!

had dinner outside, food is not bad but one of the main reasons that make the experience worth remembering is the people who work there. unfortunately even though we made it clear what was wrong with the place they try hard to be lack of hospitality and communication(it was so hard for the guy in charge to understand and accept... Stumbled across this place by accident whilst wandering around. Visited the next night and was not disappointed. Really cute place with lots of character. It is divided into about 3 sections which makes it feel more intimate. You can also sit outside. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Flemish beef stew was absolutely delicious and just melted in your mouth.... More

Wow! This place was amazing. I had the blood sausage which came with boiled potatoes and a delicious baked and spiced apple. I washed it down with their amber beer. My companion had the rabbit stew, which was out of this world. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely go back anytime!

absolutely great Belgian food, very cozy and beautiful room. Nice outdoor sitting. Probably not ideal with young kids.

A traditional restaurant you have to go while you are in the city. Eat here the classic mussels with potatoes and match with the perfect white wine. Food and desserts are delicious, ambiance cozy, service of the staff warm and efficient. Price normal for the city. I wished I stayed longer to come back here for another dinner.

Unless you are traveling alone, I highly recommend NOT going here. My family and I tried to eat here last night but ended up sitting at our table for two and a half hours. The only thing that kept us from leaving until that point was the fact that we could not get waited on. Its a beautiful place. However,... More

Tightly packed restaurant that seem to cater to more tourists. My husband and I arrived in Bruges on a cold Sunday afternoon and we stubbed open this restaurant since it seemed to be the only one opened, plus it looked very cosy and warm. That's where it all ended. Service was very brusque and aloof. The saving grace, the stews... More

This place served decent food, but the owners and staff are their own worst enemies. Rick Steves recommended this place. His restaurant recommendations are a decidedly mixed bag. Our first impression was favorable; a quaint house on a side street. But once inside, we noticed little things that began to undermine the experience. First, our lovely Belgian host made a... More

My husband and I ate dinner here on night in May. We were in town for 3 nights and were intrigued by the idea of stew served in small cast-iron pots right at our table. Unfortunately, our waiter was unfriendly, aloof, and really rather rude. We asked since the portions seemed so large if we could share a pot of... More
