It was such a disappointment! From the outside it looks reallty cozy, but if you enter all you can find is exoensive food with very unfriendely staff.

Second time visiting De Vlaamsche pot and thoroughly enjoyed the food, we had a table of six and the staff were very helpful with our food choices and beer selections. The Flemish stew is fantastic and very tasty, my only negative for this restaurant would be the pricing as if you order the stew for two or more people it... More

This is the second time we have visited here and the food was just as good, if not better than last time. The staff and bizarre front of house guy really let this place down. They crammed us into a corner where my wife couldn't even get out to go to the toilet. The front of house guy is inattentive... More

Enjoyed a delicious meal on a lovely spring evening in Bruges. This was mine and my wife's favorite meal in the low countries. Excellent food, great atmosphere. The Flemish stew, Eel, and particularly the goat cheese salad were all great.

We were a little sceptical about trying this place due to the mixed reviews. But my oh my were we glad we did! The Flemish stew is absolutely beautiful, we could not fault it. It's a very pretty little restaurant tucked away from the Main Street. Service was excellent. Restaurant was clean and tidy, with a cost feel. We will... More

We stumbled across this cosy, candle-lit restaurant on our first night in Bruges. Luckily we managed to get a table. It was very busy and took a while for us to get our first drink and to order. If we were to return, we'd just order a main as the portion sizes are very generous. We really enjoyed all the... More

We read about De Vlaamsche Pot in Rick Steves because we wanted a traditional Flemish meal. Our experience went far beyond our expectations! There was a surprisingly large selection considering the cozy size of the restaurant: we should have made reservations but we were fortunate enough to arrive early in the evening and were seated before the normal dinner crowd.... Very busy (reservations essential) but very disappointing restaurant. We were enchanted when we arrived by the traditional Flemish decor but the food was very overpriced and the beer and wine at least double the prices we found in similar standard restaurants elsewhere in Bruges (37€ for a mediocre wine, €14 for a beer that cost €4 in the best restaurant... Wow. Go if you are really hungry. Don't worry about starters or frankly any other course. Beef stew and chips with apple sauce - not to be missed.

Firstly, my advice would be to book - I didn't think we'd need to (we went on a Wednesday in October) but when I called up, the only table they had left was at 21:30, despite the restaurant seating 200 people! We had the traditional Flemish stew with frites - it was absolutely gorgeous. It arrived at the table in... More
