Great stew, endless well cooked fries, chased down with local beer all made for an enjoyable evening at this quaint restaurant on a quiet central side street. A must for a taste of food Bruges style.

The restaurant is a very nice place with good service and kind staff. The food is very tasty and made with a lot of feeling. We had beef stew, chicken and sirloin beef and they were all very good. Prices are fair.

We saw this cute little place down the side street one block from our hotel (Dukes' Palace) and decided to give it a try. What an adorable space! Cozy, warm, lots of atmosphere! My husband had the vol-au-vent and I had the Flemish stew...most delectable hunk of meat I've ever eaten! Seemed like an endless pot, huge portions. Our waiter... More

I love eel, while my femme adores rabbit stew.....err, what's up duck?. They are all served in iron pots and skillets. There's plenty of traditional fare and vintage Flemish specialities, like our choices, all served cheek by jowl while seated tight and cluttered. The food comes in huge proportions and you can have unlimited fries from the hovering "fries angel",who refills your... More

Quick summary: very Flemish specialties, wide selection of Belgian beers. Tight seating in a charming restaurant. Service was efficient but brusque. We enjoyed dinners that included rabbit stew and sausage/potato/cabbage specialties. A "fries angel" continues to re-supply very good French fries. The green salads that we started with had a nice assortment of fresh greens. Good beer on tap; wine... More

Recommended by our hotel and Rick Steves. We decided to try because of the Belgian cusine. Seated promptly, 10 minutes till drink order taken. One of oddest restaurant things we've seen is bread served in a paper bag. Party of three of us ordered rabbit and beef stews. Thank goodness she misunderstood our order and wife and I shared the... This is well worth finding, it is in Helmstraat. Like all Bruges restaurants it is quite expensive (more than 70 euros for a meal for two with beer) but the food is outstanding and the service very friendly. Their Flemish Beef Stew is worth the walk.

We saw De Vlaamsche Pot down a side road and decided to pop in on spec whilst looking to eat on a Sunday night.. Prices seemed average for Brugge restaurants What looks like a small cottage turns out to be much bigger inside. We were seated quickly in a clean and nicely decorated restaurant. The menus arrived quickly as did... More

We went there as a group but never again. One person didn't want to eat since she was not hungry but the owner said that she had to eat. She ordered an appetizer but the owner said that she couldn't. If she orders only an appetizer, she has to pay 5 euros extra so she paid. We asked for WiFi... More
