Wish the service had been as good as the stew

My husband and I ate dinner here on night in May. We were in town for 3 nights and were intrigued by the idea of stew served in small cast-iron pots right at our table. Unfortunately, our waiter was unfriendly, aloof, and really rather rude. We asked since the portions seemed so large if we... read more

This place served decent food, but the owners and staff are their own worst enemies. Rick Steves recommended this place. His restaurant recommendations are a decidedly mixed bag. Our first impression was favorable; a quaint house on a side street. But once inside, we noticed little things that began to undermine the experience. First, our lovely Belgian host made a... More

The worst place in whole Brugge. The guy refused to serve drinks to those of us who didn't want to order main, despite the fact that some in our group did. Absolutely ridiculous.

My girlfriend and I were on the homeward stretch of a 2 week European road trip. Out of the entire trip, this was far and away my favourite restaurant. So much so that we went two nights on the run. On the first night the waiter was really helpful, chatty and friendly. I had the waterzooi, which was fantastic. The... More

Nothing outstanding restaurant. Yes, it was recommended by the receptionist, but the feeling that he was in a share. Pros - home interiors, delicious mussels. But they almost delicious in any places in Brugge. Cons - You can not just order only a drink. With us were girls who just wanted a salad and a drink. We had to pay... More

We were lucky to get a table without booking because we arrived early in the evening. Go later without a booking and miss out... For a starter we ordered asparagus, which was a bit disappointing. It was not highly flavoured and a bit watery and tough to eat. The main course was much better. We highly recommend the chicken waterzooi... More

Disgusting service. We were told that we all MUST order a main course. In spite of the the fact that the restaurant was not full and we were prepared to order five full meals, the waiter would not serve us until our 6th person ordered (who had a food allergy). When we asked to speak to the manager he supported... More

As locals we ended up here when all of our favourite restaurants were full. It was my father in law (not a local) who wanted to try this place but to us it looked like a major tourist trap. It was absolutely not! The food was great and the fries were some of the best we had ever had! The... More

We arrived in Bruges mid afternoon and we're looking for a light lunch to see us through to dinner. Maybe it was the language as I don't speak Flemish but the server was very abrupt when I tried to explain and said they were a restaurant and did not sell pizza. Just as well as we were not looking for... More

Four good friends, we had a very enjoyable lunch here: good food, good beer, good service. And a really pleasant atmosphere. We sat outside and had mussels, chicken, stew. All great. Highly recommended! They serve tasty food and traditional beers (eg Duvel, Westmalle and Rochefort) from 1200 to 2200, but closed Monday and Tuesday.
