Exceptional food and service

Tripadvisor always ask reviewers "is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant?" Difficult to answer either 'yes' or 'no'. Had a decent but by no means special meal here. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. From the other ratings on Trip Advisor, one would think this to be outstanding. It's not - just a good tourist restaurant near the center of Bruges.

We arrived in Bruges today and having left phone and iPad in the car, were walking around to check out places to eat tonight (also hoping to locate the Red Rose Cafe for a pre-dinner visit). When I saw it I remembered Bistro Den Huzaar from Tripadvisor. The bistro was closed but the door had been left ajar, and we... More

Very nice meal here. Friendly staff and good ambiance. We had the set menu which I believe was about €35. Specially recommended is the pork cheeks casserole- speciality of the house - really delicious and served with a really good gratin dauphinoise.

Went here in recommendation from the B&B owner for "good Flemish food". We were not disappointed. The flavours were fabulous and service wonderful. I would return for sure. Make sure you see the toilets!

Fantastic food, service and prices. You have to book. 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 beers and 2 coffees for less than 85 euros right in the centre. Meat was melt in the mouth. Good selection of veggie options too.

If you don't eat dinner till 7.30 or later, then you definitely need to book here. But we walked straight in & were served at 7 last night & had a fabulous meal. Everything from the service, to the food presentation & food itself was wonderful, & reasonably priced too. Highly recommended!

We booked our table as we had seen the sign the night before that is was fully booked, glad we did as we enjoyed a fantastic meal here. My wife had the rabbit while I chose the pigs cheeks. The presentation of the food was beautiful, the flavours fantastic and the textures- melt in the mouth. What was really nice was... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and I'm glad they did. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We wanted a traditional Belgian restaurant which wasn't too expensive. For 2 adults and 2 children -main courses and drinks, the price was €80: very good price considering it is just off the main square. The only slight complaint is that... More
