We enjoyed an excellent meal here. The hare pate (free on the house) was not something we would normally have ordered but was very tasty. So too was the tomato soup, the chicken pie and the lamb stew. We were too full for dessert but ordered tea and coffee which were served with delightful miniature eclairs. Great atmosphere and very... More

We've been to Bruges a number of times and always seem to eat pretty well (the key is to avoid the tourist traps!). Our meal on Saturday night was right up there with the best I've had, the restaurant is welcoming and cosy, the menu has lots of seasonal game dishes and some really interesting starters and mains. The civet... More

We're a family of 4 with 2 university age kids and have been lucky to have travelled extensively and eaten in enough restaurants to have four opinionated diners. We all agreed that Bistro Den Huzaar was perfect. Service was paced to what we wanted - the most relaxed lunch we have had for a long time. Menu has something for... More

I booked this in advance to ensure we had somewhere good to eat on our first evening - and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and had a traditional feel, and the food was very tasty. I had pig cheeks in a really rich and dark gravy and a pastry crust accompanied by local beer -... There was such a lovely atmosphere - it felt local, slightly rustic but that doesn't mean uncomfortable. The waitress was a gem - watch for a dry sense of humour. The food was very tasty - between us we tried the fish, the local stew and the pork. Everyone was very happy with their meal - beautifully cooked and bags... More

So your train leaves late afternoon, you’ve done the sights and eaten mussels and enough frites for a lifetime. its Sunday afternoon and looking for a meal before the trek home. You should have booked ahead because this restaurant has fully booked on its door and you’ll be missing out on hearty Belgium food and a good bottle of wine.... More

Managed to book a table in the morning for the Saturday night - very busy as Christmas markets were on. We went for the 54 euro, all in menu, as we wanted to take advantage of the fact that we did not have to drive (a rare treat). Lovely choice of food, and swayed by so many comments about the... We've been here twice now and friends have just come back from Bruges who went there on our recommendation. It's a very nice restaurant, nice atmosphere and good food. Think I've had rabbit and another not so common dish. Went there with partner and daughter and also with my parents and brother. Everyone liked it, there was something for everyone.... More
