A friend and I decided to have lunch at 't Voutje after walking around central Bruges for a little while. We sat outside in the sun, and were promptly brought our menus. My friend decided on the set menu, which consisted of a starter, main and dessert. As he was placing his order, the waiter kept offering suggestions; however, didn't... More

From the moment we were welcomed in with a warm 'grunt' we could not have been made more welcome! Other than perhaps by the use of courtesy or manners. The wide and varied menu (which definitely was in no way overpriced) was kindly thrust at us by the waiter who bore a strange resemblance to ex Aston Villa manager John... More

Wanted one meal to be shared by 3 people so they could try the mussels which were excellent when we went there 3 years ago. Plenty of tables available so we were taken and seated upstairs and waited for someone to take the order - never came so went downstairs to order. When they found out only one meal was... More

Short story is don't ruin you evening in this great town. Slow service and terrible food that's overpriced. Better off going to the chip shop on the opposite corner or one of the surrounding restaurants. Long story: Our first choice for dinner was another restaurant that happened to be closed for the night so we wondered around and ended up... More

By changing one letter, you can call this restaurant "'t Foutje": in Dutch, the little mistake. It was a big mistake to eat here. My partner and I, we wished to sit side-by-side at a table for four so that we could both see the street. We were curtly informed that this was not possible. Imagine if everybody wanted to... More

Where to eat? Where to eat? Spoiled for choice in Bruges we had our hearts set on mussels. All restaurants seemed to charge the same so it was all about atmosphere and vibe. From the start we were well looked after 4 adults and 1 child. The staff was concerned that our table wouldn't be big enough for our meal... More

My husband and I have just returned from having a meal at this restaurant, very poor service...we waited well over half an hour for a pate starter.. It tasted ok...after almost an hour the main meal arrived chicken in a creamy sauce with vegetables...it was ok..not worth the money we paid for it...My husband mentioned to the waiter when he... We stumbled upon this place on a Sunday nght and, not having read the bad reviews, gave it a try. The menu was simple but we quite liked all the dishes, from the house salad to the chicken special to the Flemish beef with baked apples. Moreover, the maitre d/server was quite pleasant. We enjoyed our dinner.

We arrived late in the day and wanted a restaurant fairly close to our hotel, but not on the main square as we were concerned about being ripped off. It was a fairly quiet winter evening so we thought we would pick somewhere with several diners in. This appeared to have several people eating downstairs but we were shown to... More
