Been there a LONG time ago, when the boy needed a nanny/babysitter ... Returned after so many years.. still the same. Still the same "joy de vivre" from the lady of the house, still the same lovely food on your plate. On Bruges most beautiful day (May 29, 2014) we went having lunch. My son ate a pizza, he rated... Discovered this place five years ago on a previous holiday in Bruges and am pleased to say it as good now as it was then. A very traditional Italian, family run for over 30 years, Riva del Sole is in my opinion the best in Bruges. I know this because the restaurant closes on Tuesday and Wednesday and we tried... More

We were due for a break from Belgian cuisine so we walked over to the Riva Del Sole. Standard Italian fare. Service was friendly. Ordered the garlic pizza bread as a starter but came out with the entree. Order penne arrabbiata which the server warned me was spicy. It had a good spiciness to it..but lacked some fresh basil. Was... More

Friendly host, but unfortunately not the best Italian food I've had. Definitely overpriced due to close proximity to the main square. If you just want as quick pizza it's ok but wouldn't recommend for evening out.

My husband and I are not fans of Dutch food so we were happy but hesitant to stumble upon this place as it was across from our hotel. We have very high standards on Italian foods and thought it was very good. The service was great but the decor could use a little work.

This is a nice italian restaurant if a bit cliche. The food is good and plentiful and large portions. Very cheerful service. Extremely good spaghetti carbonara.

This was one of the worst Italian restaurants we've ever visited. The starter was fine but the pizza (Romano) was without any taste. My girlfriend had pasta, with a hair in it. Plus: it was burned food! We had the idea they work too hasty. The lasagna of the neighbors was there in 5 minutes, this can't be right. Also,... More

We stopped off quite late after a long sociable afternoon and were pleased to find a comfortable restaurant with friendly staff/owners which for Bruges we thought was very well priced. The Garlic pizza starter was excellent and my pasta Arrabbiata was fresh tasty and perfect for the occasion. My wife had swordfish which again was well cooked though she confessed... More

We had a pizza each here on February 3rd 2014. I had a Pizza Mama Mia, and my wife had a Pizza Napolitana. This was our third stab at having a pizza in Brugge over several years and easily the best. The pizza dough was clearly home made, and the toppings were nice, especially the balance of tomato sauce and... More

We have been visiting Bruges at least once a year for the the last 15 years, and every time we stay there we always manage at least one meal at Riva Del Sole. Yes there are plenty of other Italian restaurants to choose from in the city (and a few that have come and gone in less than a year).... More
