Built in 1561 and named for the Flemish painter who once lived here, this place is not only an excellent restaurant but also a bit of a time capsule. Our hotel owner secured reservations for us. It was within easy walking distance. Ambiance was wonderful. Service was excellent. The 52 Euro "menu" included a house aperitif as well as a... More

Visited this lovely little restaurant on a Tuesday evening ,having been fortunate to make a reservation a couple of hours earlier. We were made welcome and enjoyed an excellent meal, four courses including a bottle of wine for an inclusive price of 54 Euros per person. The Belgium Blue T Bone steak was a sight to behold and perfectly cooked. We... More

Excellent meal, friendly and professional service at a reasonable price. Peaceful experience in an historic building. Easy walk from the hustle etc of the main square. Very good and reasonably priced house wine.

We visited as a party of 8 and had pre booked (which was very much needed). All the food was truly excellent but the scampi pieter pourbus started and the monkfish in pp or peppercorn sauce were both quite brilliant. Fillet steak was also succulent and cooked to perfection. Drinks were plentiful (house red was great) and the total bill... More

Having been recommended by our hotel and not having booked a table, we arrived just after six on a Friday evening and got the last table. Many dinners turned away. We could understand why so busy. Friendly first class service, great ambience and superb food and wine at reasonable prices. Worth finding.

The restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, and the receptionist kindly booked a table for us. It was only a short walk away, and we were warmly welcomed. Good thing we booked, as the place was full - always a good sign. We had the 52 euros per person menu, which included wine, and it was all totally... More

A quiet, relaxed restaurant tucked away from the town but you must book in advance - many people were turned away while we were there as they didn't have a booking. Enjoyed the food - recommend the Pieter Pourbus steak.

We were looking for authentic Belgian food and our hotel recommended Pieter Pourbus. The restaurant was fairly full, with a very warm and friendly staff. We felt as much like family as we did guests. The meals were good, especially the white asparagus, which was in season while we were there. Reasonably priced and just a few blocks off the... More

Still moments from the centre of Bruges, this delightful spot feels like a home from home, slightly away from the crowds and with welcoming staff and great food. Like many places in Bruges, they have a range of set menus, including one with a bottle of wine for approximately 50 euros per person. The food and service were superb-would definitely... More
