Great place to go

It was our third visit and still wonderfull. Great food & service cooked in front of you. We had difficulty in booking via the internet and needed a phone call to get the table booked, but it was worth the effort. I would highly recommend this restaurant , not the usually tourist venue.

It's a little walk, it's a little place, it's a limited menu and they fulfil it wonderfully. Set menu with beer to accompany the courses was a really great choice but even if you don't have the set menu they are knowledgeable and will suggest beers to go with your courses. The staff are warm, tentative and observant. This was... More

Having read reviews on Trip Advisor about this restaurant, my husband and I decided to visit and were so pleased we did although we didn't realise you had to book and therefore had to book for the next evening. The hospitality and excellent food made for a very enjoyable evening. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Food is basic but very tasty, cooked on an open fire in the tavern. Service was lovely, with special beers chosen for us for each course. We loved it. Nice for a cold winter evening, and worth the walk.

We rather optimistically showed up here with no booking on a Saturday night but they managed to squeeze us in anyway - lucky, as it was otherwise fully booked! We treated ourselves to the 44 euro set menu which featured an astonishingly good baked camembert, one of the best steaks I've ever had, and a perfect homemade tirimasu, all with... More

The steak here was fantastic - a nice thick piece with no gristle or fat, delicious sauces and a very nice side salad. And fries, of course! The staff were very friendly and seemed really knowledgeable about their beer choices, for those who find that important. The house red was nice for non-beer drinkers, and they seemed to have a... Our party of 7 ate here on New Years Eve. Ages ranged from 16 to 50 and everybody loved it. The communications we had before the visit about dietary requirements were easy. We had a fantastic night with A1 food and service. Each course had a beer paired with it, perfect choices. The place is a walk out of the... More

Great atmosphere and much cheaper drinks than the main tourist restaurants! All food is cooked in front of you on a fire. A lovely chilled out vibe would definitely recommend. Seemed full so would pre book in advance! The menu was mainly fish, meat I.e. Ribs & steak... The website menu wouldn't load when I looked at it! Definitely would... More

We have dined here for the last 3 trips to Bruges and this time it was good but honestly not as good as it used to be. What we loved about it was the amazing food and rough around the edges aspect of it. There was nothing pretentious about it and the menu. They've changed the menu and there is... More

This was our 4th visit spread over the last few years and this place doesn't change except that it's getting more popular, so next time we will be booking a table. The food quality was exceptional, the service impeccable and the 75 cl kriek lambic 5% cleared the pallet better than any wine. This place has the feel of a comfortable... More
