We had a lovely meal here, the only thing we encountered here and in fact everywhere in Europe is people smoking at outside tables so we chose to sit inside. This was a pity as the view onto the square is lovely.

As other reviewers said, you will definitely hear about Du Progres when staying in Ghent. So we booked reservations for dinner, and were very excited! The food was delicious...and the restaurant itself is very cute. The service was not great though....our first server actually just abandoned us, and we sat with no wine or food, or anyone coming over to... More

A fine little restaurant with a *HUGE* reputation. If you're staying in Gent, you'll hear about this place... I guess it's pretty popular with the locals, but I just didn't fall in love with it. Came here on a Friday afternoon during what can only be described as "off-peak" hours. Most restaurants in Gent are only open at select times,... More

The food here is great! I had steak with the 'James Bond' sauce - delicious! The service was quick and reasonably friendly. Always very busy so book ahead!

I tried to book a table at Le Progres twice before finally being able to do so - the restaurant was always fully booked! That's a good sign! I came by on a Thursday evening. We were welcomed in a friendly and polite manner, in Dutch, French and English. We had the t-bone for 2 which was really tasty and... More

We had a great dinner in this smart and friendly restaurant. The menu was quite traditional and our food was very tasty. Good value for money.

We were on a return visit to Ghent, having really liked it a couple of years ago. After seeing previous reviews, my wife booked a table for my birthday and got them to throw a free drink into the deal. On arrival, they'd kept us one the of best tables in the house. They pretended that they'd forgotten the free... More

Went to Gent for a Stag do and we had this place booked for 17 people. I decided to try a T-bone steak and share with another. It was divine. I've never been a fan of steak, but this may convert me. The sauce was a 'James Bond Sauce' and it was lovely. Great on the chips as well. Whilst... More

With just four nights in Gent and hundreds of restaurants to choose from, it says it that our group of twelve intrepid cyclists chose to visit this restaurant twice. Excellent food and service. Good value. Perhaps not the most extensive menu but what they did they do very well. I would say this is a must go to restaurant for... More

We turned up with 17 in our party. A stag party of all things. The staff were friendly and very accommodating to our group size. Excellent food (try the T-bone for two!) Incredible atmosphere Brilliant staff (Trimbo!!) I'd eat there everyday!
