Last week we had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant because an event we were supposed to attend was cancelled. After a call to this restaurant on thursday (very last minute for Ghent) we were very nicely offered a place in the early service from 18u15-20u30. The menu is "limited" to 5-6 choices for every course but for me... More

We already go to A food affair since the first year it exists. I'm from Ghent and this really is my favorite restaurant there. We always go here for special occasions. The menu frequently changes and is always delicious! The hostess is super friendly and spontaneous! Since almost every foody in ghent loves this place, it's necessary to make a... More

We visited A Food Affair yesterday (Friday) evening, it had been a long time since we went there. The menu seemed to have fewer choices than a few years back and mainly focuses on curry. We had an appetizer, main course and desert. Everything was delicious but it isn't exactly cheap. On the other hand, going out for dinner in... More

Nice place, delicious food and wine, good atmosphere but rather overpriced for its quality. The fact that this place is recommended by Michelin guide, does not necesseraily mean that the prices should be so high while the food is just good and not remarkably delicious.

Wonderful menu beautifully prepared and served. Unique flavors and spices as well as combinations of foods. Also a nice wine list. There are choices here for every palate. Comfortable setting for business or pleasure. Very busy on weekends so reservations are a good idea. Definitely a welcome change from the standard fare in the city center. I will be back... More

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant in Gent, especially after reading all the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The place is nice, but quite noise. We sat on the first floor, which is anyway communicating with the ground floor, where the atmosphere is very nice. We ordered 2 starters: tuna with sesame and some "mosselen" and 2 main dishes... Nice atmosphere, extremely friendly service. We come here each time we visit Gent. The food is always exceptional; the ideas of food combination and spices are fantastic. Whether you choose more traditional dishes or Asian-style, the making is always innovative and the taste exceptional. This time we ate: mussels with red curry sauce: perfectly prepared so the flavour of the... More

Although I am not so fond of the eastern kitchen, we had a marvelous meal in the food affair. We started with spring rolls, and ordered immediately an extra portion. Devine. The Malaysian stew that followed was one of the best stews I ever had. Not cheap, but very good.
