We spent a wonderful evening in The House of Elliott last July and returned this August. The place is still one of a kind. The atmosphere is wonderful. The quirky décor adds to the charm. Check out the Dior cloakroom. You can sit up or downstairs, or outside, next to the canal on a good weather day. The best thing to... More

The food was exquisite, perfectly cooked, and the service was outstanding. Fresh ingredients, good balance of spices, very cold wine and friendly owner

Last year we where a little disappointed after our visit to this restaurant (please see my earlier posts) but this time we hit the jackpot. Our visit to the House of Eliott was fantastic. It already started with a very good mousse of smoked eel. After that we had the menu with 3 half lobsters : lobster Belle-vue, lobster with... More

Amazing Unusual and totally different. Front of house service fantastic we were made to feel very welcome The restaurant is like sitting in a 1920s front parlour weird but comfortingly wonderful. I had lobster done 6 ways it was beautiful my friends had different meals of fish and steak which they thoroughly enjoyed. Gent is also a beautiful friendly city... More

Absolutely wonderful restaurant in a lovely city. Top rate food especially the lobster. Decor very different and beautifully done Shame overrated restaurants like St Helenas in Elstow can't learn to treat their customers and serve good food like this. The House of Eliot fully deserve their place as best restaurant in the city and will definitely be going again

i will keep this brief : the food, the setting and the service are all top notch! The restaurant is located in the epicenter of old ghent, so surroundings are also worth the visit.

Here is the place to go in Ghent if you like lobster. The way the chef prepares it, is just a fest for your tastebuds. They also make sure you don't have too much work left to eat it, so it's not like you have to break your food into thousands of pieces if you actually want to eat. A... More

I have visited this restaurant on a single occasion for a dinner. As said,to describe inerior as ecclectic is a gross understratement. The rooms are overflowing with objects,in an attempt to create bourjois sense of wealth and taste. Not everybody would like it,but effort may be appreciated. This is a place to eat lobsters and mainly lobsters. There are couple of options on... More
