By far the best restaurant in Ghent

You like lobster? Then look no further. You don't like lobster? Now you will. That's right. The House of Eliott is a dinner extravaganza that is a treat to all the senses. ALL of them. First the place is decorated perfectly. You won't find another place like that. Second the service is... read more

Tried to get in to this restaurant a couple of times, but no tables. Called in again at the start of the Ghent Festival to see if there would be space but looked like we might struggle. I think they said tables on the terrace were 'pot luck', those inside booked. As we'd eaten an early lunch and it was... More

This is a quirky restaurant - mannequins with antique clothes, various early-1900s items arranged nicely. Somewhat cluttered, but in a tasteful way. Interesting even just to look around the room. The seafood was great. My son raved about the lobster. The service was good - the owner walks around and chats with the patrons and talks about the items, the... More

My partner visited this restaurant last month. Please book in advance so not to be disappointed as they are always fully booked... For a reason! We chose to have the house of elliot set menu which was 3 halves of Lobster cooked differently. All the food was amazing... We did wait about 45 minutes between each half, but was well... More

So much has been said about the House of Elliot that it's hard to say something creative. So I'll be brief. IN CRE DIBLE food, deco, situation, service.

We had a table downstairs and the decoration is so unique that you are unable to take it all in. The host was really friendly and he took the time for us, even though it was rush hour (lunchtime). The lobster was delicious with basil sauce and mash potato (EUR 43). Also ask for the bread with self-made butter (it... More

Charmingly quirky little restaurant serving absolutely divine food. Thoroughly enjoyed a meal of scallops followed by a main of monkfish. Attentive service.

Located in the old Ghent city center, close to the medieval Caste of the Counts The House of Eliot serves a menu with surprising choices. Good tasting food in the great and also special eclectic location. Nice and friendly service by one of the owners who likes to makes his guest laughing. Reasonable priced and when leaving a free local... More

The lobster is delicious, staff very friendly and funny, and the decoration is really special. I would highly recommend to have dinner here when you are in Ghent. Be sure to make a reservation in time.
