Close to perfection

The House of Eliott is the place in Ghent to have diner with a loved one. The only problem you will face is how you want your lobster prepared. Everything is good and if you are lucky enough to have a spot on the terras, the experience will be really unique.

The restaurant is amazing! Cosy and cute and the lobsters were great. We ordered the Eliott Menu and they served 1,5 lobster is different tastes. I prefered the lobster with broccoli and looksaus and lobster belle vue. We did'nt have a dessert because of the quite large portions of lobster. We'll be back soon!

We were not aware that this is actually a lobster restaurant! My husband is not a fan, but as the venue was amazing and the staff very friendly we stayed. We chose the lobster in six varieties and were not disappointed (he was not either). Spectacular decor, funny and friendly staff, seating on the terrace on the waterfront - all... More

Top place. Went for a birthday meal, and it was a real treat. The staff and owner were really friendly and funny giving us plenty of attention without being stifling. The food was really tasty - we had one of the lobster menus - varied dishes excellently prepared. No English menu, but our waiter took the time to explain each... More

We arrived at 7:30 pm, placed our order at 7:40 pm and got our food at 9:30 pm, by which time we were so hungry that when they brought us our appetizer, we dived in -- only to realize they served the wrong appetizer! We ordered carpaccio and they brought us scallops! After one bite, we called the waiter who... More

Tried to get in to this restaurant a couple of times, but no tables. Called in again at the start of the Ghent Festival to see if there would be space but looked like we might struggle. I think they said tables on the terrace were 'pot luck', those inside booked. As we'd eaten an early lunch and it was... More

You like lobster? Then look no further. You don't like lobster? Now you will. That's right. The House of Eliott is a dinner extravaganza that is a treat to all the senses. ALL of them. First the place is decorated perfectly. You won't find another place like that. Second the service is exquisite. Yes, EXQUISITE. It's that good that it... More

This is a quirky restaurant - mannequins with antique clothes, various early-1900s items arranged nicely. Somewhat cluttered, but in a tasteful way. Interesting even just to look around the room. The seafood was great. My son raved about the lobster. The service was good - the owner walks around and chats with the patrons and talks about the items, the... More

My partner visited this restaurant last month. Please book in advance so not to be disappointed as they are always fully booked... For a reason! We chose to have the house of elliot set menu which was 3 halves of Lobster cooked differently. All the food was amazing... We did wait about 45 minutes between each half, but was well... More

So much has been said about the House of Elliot that it's hard to say something creative. So I'll be brief. IN CRE DIBLE food, deco, situation, service.
