The first time I visited House of Elliot was in 2009. The place was small, but it felt cosy and comfortable. I was astonished of the quality of food. At that time a lobster taste menu (what is now known as carousel) consisted of full 1.5 lobster(!) (3 halves) cooked 3 different ways. Now this dish consist of just half... More

What makes this restaurant so fantastic is the fact that the owner has put his heart and soul into making the food live up to the restaurant's fantastic aesthetics. Forget what that person below wrote, I genuinely have never encountered a more charming and welcoming host... ...Admittedly, he initially turned us away on account of the place being fully booked... My friend and I waited outside of this spot until it was open and when we walked in the owner told us to come in. When we asked to see the menu he told us what he was cooking that night and right as we were about to tell him that we would like to join them for dinner he... More

I went to this restaurant solely based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed. Its a small place so you are best to book and the decor is eclectic. Think Trois Garcon in Shoreditch, so taxidermy, old haute couture dresses and elaborate wallpaper. There is a menu with a la carte choices, but it seems the speciality was... More

I ate at this restaurant with my wife and another couple last week. The food was excellent. I had beef carpacio to start and then the lobster cooked six different ways. Both were exceptional. Service was OK, but that seems to be the name of the game in Belgium, with a 3-hour dinner considered normal and an hour delay between... More

I'd walked by The House of Elliott the evening before, while strolling around the beautifully illuminated city of Ghent. The ambiance looked so rich and festive and quirky, I was immediately envious of the people dining inside (even though I had just eaten elsewhere). A life-sized statue of Josephine Baker in her famous banana skirt beckoned from the lobby, and... More

We spent a wonderful evening in The House of Elliott last July and returned this August. The place is still one of a kind. The atmosphere is wonderful. The quirky décor adds to the charm. Check out the Dior cloakroom. You can sit up or downstairs, or outside, next to the canal on a good weather day. The best thing to... More
