We go to Gent whenever we are in Europe just to eat at Amadeus. The ribs are wonderful, service good and the atmosphere great. We look forward to our next visit

Slightly alarmed by the report about the Belfort restaurant. However, we went to the Patershol one which goes on and in and further and round. Really good atmosphere and odd decor, different for each room. Ribs are the speciality but some other choices. I had the lamb which was very good. Everything is served with the jacket potato with a... More

We had a farewell party of a friend tonight so we wanted to celebrate it just having a dinner in Amadeus II near Belfort. Everything was normal, I have been in Amadeus lots of time so everything was aparently as always and we were having a really good dinner. The problems arrived when we were going to pay the bill,... Even Henry VIII would have felt stuffed after eating at the wonderful Amadeus. What a great 'gastronomic go for it' experience in a fabulously kitted out room with period music, lively company and service with a smile. Over 3 nights had ribs, prawns and steaks together with the baked taters covered in a garlic butter/curried/herby sauce to die for. And... More

It's worth stopping here to see the decor inside restaurant even if you don't like ribs. The inside is pretty fancy! However the weather was perfect so we ate outside. If you are from Kansas or especially Texas don't expecting these ribs to taste like they do at home. But they're still good. The baked potatoes have a curry type... More

I've been to Amadeus 1 last year and 2 this year. To sum up, Amadeus 1 was better in terms of taste. The service of both restaurants was kind and welcoming alike. However Amadeus 1's tables are somewhat packed in small space so that it was hard to move through the hall. On the contrary, Amadeus 2 was spacious enough.... More

There are two Amadeus restaurants in Gent - we went to the one on Gouden Leeuwplein in the centre of town and not the one at Plotersgracht. The first thing that strikes you is the decor - refurbished 30 years ago to look like a 1940's restaurant - and they've done a fabulous job - the place was very atmospheric,... More

I have visited here a few times over the years when I am in Belgium, but this place definitely has to be rated top class for BBQ Spare Ribs. June 20, 2014, my colleagues and I decided to drive out to Gent for Amadeus' legendary ribs. It's been a few years since the last time I was there, so I... More

I have visited Gent twice, and both times I've made it my mission to go to Amadeus! It's a lovely, cosy restaurant, with friendly and welcoming staff. The ribs are just to die for, as are the potatoes! I can't wait to return again

If you don't like ribs, find another place, but if you do, this is one of the best places for it. I was a member of a group of about 10 people, and the waiter did not ask what we wanted from the menu, but 'who would not have ribs'? Other dishes are served, but the majority go here for... More
