Great

A return visit after about 10 years, I had to use my phone to re-find this gem which I had originally stumbled upon. The downstairs was completely full and, sligthtly oddly, they did not have their outside tables in operation. It was chilly but I would definitely have say outside by the canal and... read more

This was my second time in this "cafe", and I like it very much. They have a very good collection of Belgium beers, and it is fun to chat with staff if you sit on the bar. Did not eat anything, except the cheese besides my Chimay Blue, and they were both delicious. You can go out to smoke, and... More

Great beer, we loved them, but staff were more interested by TV on the wall then serving to the customers.

Ignore the others here who complain about the service; it's a bar, people! Not the Chez Paul and you aren't Abe Froman. Great tavern with knowledgeable bartenders about the HEAPS of beers they have available; both on tap and in bottles. And it's right on the canal.

We really loved this place, we ended up visiting twice on our 3 night visit to Ghent. The beers were absolutely amazing and the service was great. Even though it was busy enough the waitress had no problem explaining and suggesting different styles of beers. Prices are very reasonable too.

Visited this bar while in Ghent. First time we couldn't get in as so busy and there's actually not that many seats inside downstairs. Second time we had to sit upstairs. Didn't think the atmosphere is the same upstairs as downstairs but we got recommended to visit so we did. Stayed for 1 drink each. There our so many to... More

One of the main beer houses in the centre and very busy on a Friday and Saturday night. A decent selection of belgian beers to chose from (not quite up there with some of the bars in Bruges) and in most cases the right glass to accompany the right beer. Regrettably all the beer was being served at one standard... More

As well as being in the middle of a beautiful city (Gent), and as well as offering an excellent (and not too many) selection of beers, the place has a relaxing vibe and thempeople there helpful ( like after several beers) organising or telling you where to get taxis. Recommend 110%.

When we arrived, the waiter told us to go upstairs because all of the tables downstairs were occupied. We waited for approximately 20 minutes there, but no one came to wait our table. When I eventually went to order downstairs at the bar, the waiter was pissed at me for ordering there. The beer was good indeed, but the unfriendly... More

Simply rude employee, you go to the washroom and while you pass by the counter you pass your order to the female waiter in a polite way, Employee looking at you like you are from mars and then says, yeah but you need to give me time to come to your table and take your order..last time for me for...
