Seat by water. Many beers. Helpful staff. Sausage and cheese with a nice mustard. Who cares if it is tourists.

I visited years ago and loved this little bar and looked forward to a return visit. However it seems to have changed hands or perhaps it was an off day. It seems to have lost all its character, the bar staff were more interested in chatting than actually serving, and it took some time to get a drink ordered.

A cosy bar with a great selection of beers. The seating area outside is a great place to relax with friends while enjoying a drink. The staff are nice and friendly. Love this place

A tourist trap with unfriendly nonchalante staff, living on their reputation and localisation. The beer is ok but no diffrent from any bar. n

When we went, and we went multiple times, the patio on the canal was packed and the inside bar area was crowded and dark, but if you go inside and to the right, there are stairs up to a second floor, light and airy with big windows you can open overlooking the canal. The star here is the beer. Their... More

If you are looking for rare Belgian brews, this is the place to go. The bar is very small and cozy. The terrace has a lot of seating, but is packed on a sunny day. Here we enjoyed Klokke Roeland, a hard to find local 11.5 percent gem. The bartender was fast and helpful. The toilet in the ladies room... More

This bar certainley has a stunning collection of beers. Unfortunately one of the bar's waiters had an attitude which was more than unfriendly. This guy just want customers to leave in our opinion.

This place was recommended by friends who had visited Ghent. If you are a beer lover you will find no shortage of places to drink great Belgian brews. This little place is cozy and has nice views of the canal. Service was lacking but this is a bar not a restaurant. Nice atmosphere and good beers.

This is THE place to be when visiting Ghent to enjoy Belgium beers. It's a cosy and popular place and has only a small terrace. Most of the time there are no seats available. They have a list of 5 pages with beers to choose from. Loved this place and returned a few times during my stay in Ghent.

In Ghent for a day and after a lunch on the Patersol side of the Leie river I fancied a beer. Crossing the bridge, I spotted the sign, 'Bierhuis' and the building looked interesting so in there I went. Inside it was quite small and very busy but I managed to get the last high stool at the end of... More
