This small restaurant is run by an older couple. We had the 55 euro menu that includes a 4 course menu with red/white wine and coffee. The food and wine are ok/good; what I expect to get in a medium priced restaurant. No big thrills, but nothing to complain either. The service is sometimes a little bit slow, but that... More

First class TA recommendation - not to be missed in Gent, though recommend booking ahead. Cosy restaurant with very friendly and attentive service, the small but exquisitely executed menu was perfect. Very reasonable 4 course menu options including wine and locally sourced ingredients representing good value for money if you're looking for a top end dining experience.

It was thanks to all the tripadvisor reviews that made us choose this lovely cosy restaurant where we had a wonderful meal (best of our trip), a wonderful evening and the service was delightful. I won't describe the menu or food as there are some very good previous reviews that do that in detail. I can only say the next... More

Visited this restaurant with my husband after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We were very impressed. Such a cosy restaurant, in a quiet cobbled lane. It felt very homely, & we were told that it had originally been two houses. Run by a husband and wife, as previously stated on previous reviews. The ambience, service, quality and presentation of food were... More

I loved how cosy and relaxed the atmosphere of this small restaurant was. Run by a couple - I wish I had caught her name but the wife runs the service by herself mostly and the husband is the chef - and very skilfully maintained. The food is delicious and well prepared and the set menu with wine is great... More

Ate here on a Friday night, prebooked after reading TA reviews. Small restaurant, as previously stated ran by a couple, so 1 front of house, 1 in kitchen. Chose to eat off the set menu, including wine at 55€. Sparkling wine aperitif served with white sausage and a gorgeous green and black olive tapenade. Lovely fresh ciabatta bread and creamy... More

A warm welcome from Katarina as you enter this intimate and attractive restaurant. Her husband Yuri is the chef and these two people have been making dining guests extremely happy for around 18 years. The service as superb , the food exquisite and the bill for the set menu which included wine , was very reasonable indeed. Our hotel manager... More

After reading good reviews on Trip Advisor, we went to Valentijn for my husband's birthday while visiting Ghent in Belgium. Valentijn was everything we'd hoped for and better. Very intimate, comfortable, and cozy. Excellent service, just the right level of attentiveness. And the food? Oh my. UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS. Have a look at my photos ~ it tasted even better than... Don't be afraid to enter this restaurant as you will not be disappointed. The menu at a very reasonable price is listed outside, so no surprises. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Food is more than average and beautifully served. The setting of the restaurant is cosy in a historical building. Our only remark is that the stairs to... More
