When someone has managed to arrange a beautiful setting, provide professional service and prepare the best ingredients in an appetising way, they deserve the time it takes to write a review. We visited this restaurant and were so glad. Complimentary pork pate/olives and a beautiful bread bun. Followed by Hare compote and beetroot. More beautiful bread. A magnificent pea soup... More

As we were exploring Ghent we were keeping an eye out for somewhere to eat the following night and we stumbled across this lovely little restaurant, such a pretty place. Small menu but delicious food.

While wandering around near the city center we came upon this restaurant and decided to try it out. It's small but cozy. The name translates to valentine so the decor is romantic. It is run by a couple who used to be married. He cooks and the former wife deals with the customers. She was the only one waiting on... More

Gent was very crowed the weekend we visited. The restaurant where would have liked to eat was fully booked. On a recommendation by an other guest we booked a table with Valentijn. Plus: good food and plenty of wine (your glass is never empty) But this has also a downside. We had fish so we drank white wine.. so there... More

The service is impeccable, the food ABSOLUTELY perfect! And the price you pay is crazy for the quality of food they serve!! If you're into a gooed wine, you'll find your likes here aswell.

We visited this restaurant upon the recommendation of the owner of the T Klaverblad restaurant, where we had eaten the night before.(they eat there also which is a good recommendation) You will need to book in advance as the food here is great ( set menu taken). Good value and quality food with attentive ,friendly service. You will not regret... More

We experienced the best food here in our long weekend in Gent. My husband and I ate all options on the fixed menu (plus wine) and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The scampi/ scallop based soup was exceptional and the wine flowed generously. Thank you for a lovely evening - I hope that we will return with friends - Karen and Simon

Cosy and friendly restaurant but a bit short staffed when we visited. Limited choices helped them cope ( and they were certainly busy) as did their natural good humour. Its a small place and inevitably tables are a bit crammed in. Overall reasonable value .

I visited here at the end of a busy day touring Ghent and got there suitably early to ensure an unbooked table (the restaurant opened at 1830). We were certainly not disappointed, with an extensive and well thought through a la carte menu as well as set menu choices. There was also a fantastic selection of wine and knowledgeable, friendly...
