Generous wine with the set good menu!

We arrived on a Tuesday evening with no booking, there was space. We opted for the set menu with drinks (aperitif, wine, coffee/tea), which came to 55 Euros per head. Went to restaurant Valentijn last weekend. Exquisite food, great waitress, good wine and cosy and romantic interior. Keep up this quality!

We booked this restaurant through our hotel, Making reservations in advance is a must for any of the good restaurants as they mainly operate on a single sitting. The menu was all in Flemish and the set menu was explained in full by the waitress who seemed a little miffed when we asked what was on the ala carte menu... More

On a charming cobblestone street in a neat neighborhood, I frankly wasn't too keen on the style of the this restaurant, the layout was a bit odd and sort of cramped, lots of stairs. But what really matters is the food and Restaurant Valentijn certainly delivered. We opted for the fixed menu which was inventive and unique. We started with... More

My wife, son and I had dinner at Restaurant Valentijn last September. My son, who entertains frequently in his business, noted that our meal was one of the best he had encountered. The food was absolutely delicious. We telephoned the day of our visit and were probably the last reservation accepted. The restaurant is small and has an intimate atmosphere.... More

We enjoyed a memorable meal here when visiting Ghent for the Christmas markets. The food was excellent and all eight of us who have eaten in restaurants far and wide agreed that it was a special meal. The service was relaxed and efficient and the husband and wife team of chef and front of house gave the evening a special... More

This small restaurant is run by an older couple. We had the 55 euro menu that includes a 4 course menu with red/white wine and coffee. The food and wine are ok/good; what I expect to get in a medium priced restaurant. No big thrills, but nothing to complain either. The service is sometimes a little bit slow, but that... More

First class TA recommendation - not to be missed in Gent, though recommend booking ahead. Cosy restaurant with very friendly and attentive service, the small but exquisitely executed menu was perfect. Very reasonable 4 course menu options including wine and locally sourced ingredients representing good value for money if you're looking for a top end dining experience.

It was thanks to all the tripadvisor reviews that made us choose this lovely cosy restaurant where we had a wonderful meal (best of our trip), a wonderful evening and the service was delightful. I won't describe the menu or food as there are some very good previous reviews that do that in detail. I can only say the next... More

Visited this restaurant with my husband after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We were very impressed. Such a cosy restaurant, in a quiet cobbled lane. It felt very homely, & we were told that it had originally been two houses. Run by a husband and wife, as previously stated on previous reviews. The ambience, service, quality and presentation of food were... More
