I've been going to restaurant 'La Provence' on regular occasions over the past 6 years and so far I've never been disappointed. Great location, walking distance from the center of Ghent, in a historic building and the atmosphere is always nice. Friendly staff and head chef Olivier is always around to bring that personal touch to the meal! Definitely worth... More

We choose the set 4 course menu with wine. The service, food, wine & was atmosphere of the restaurant was expectional. Both the waiter & the chef took the time out to ensure our needs where meant. Would recommend this as a must do eating experience.

Indeed a very good restaurant ! The boss makes you an extremely Nice dish: he uses fresh ingredients good at the time of the season and with a magical trick he convertst the ingredients in a wonderfull more then tasty dish. He uses traditional maners to Prepare the food, but sometimes with an exotic twist! Asian flavours are sometimes hidden... More

Had dinner in La Provence and chose 3 courses from the menu. The menu is quite restricted (only 4 choices per course) but the food was delicious. So with the waiter being friendly and the atmosphere being cosy, I would certainly recommend this restaurant to everybody. There is free parking in the 'Visserij' which is about a 5 minutes walk... The entrance is very nice, like walking into a cosy living room. After that it all went downhill quickly. The waiters are not up to the task. They forgot about us, resulting into people entering after us already having starters before we had a chance to order. And they placed our bottle of wine at the other side of the room,... More

We ad a great dinner here, small card (with relatively a lot of fish) and a great atmosphere. Food was excellent. To be honest: I would try the lunch. The lunch menu looked very interesting and next time in Ghent we will go for the lunch!

Found this place though Trip advisor. Had a wonderful time at La Provence. The food was great, tasty and well-prepared, with ample portions of 'forgotten vegetables'. Limited but excellent selection of wines. Staff was relaxed, efficient and informal, making for a nice contrast with the 'old world' grandeur of the dining room.

Many restaurants in the town area of Ghent are expensive and you do not know what you are getting for the price that you pay but outskirts of the town, a bit of a walk, we just came across this restaurant only because they were on the way back to our hotel. Lovely old building, beautiful dining area and properly... More

We came accross this restaurant by accident but were more than pleasantly suprised. The maitre-d was both attentive and welcoming. The food was simple but beautifically seasoned and we could not find fault with any aspect of our meal.
