Regret this restaurant has turned itself into a charcuterie so no longer there to provide a valid review.

Unfortunately the owners have decided to pursue other interests and this restaurant has closed doors in February. I will need to chose another "best restaurant in Ghent"....

A very nondescript building, with no sign whatsoever on the front, hides one of the best restaurants in my recent experience. We had lunch on a Saturday, and we were a bit short of time so we went à la carte, with an entrée and a main course, both fish. W-O-W ! Both dishes (with tepid dorade and merlan as... More

We took visiting relatives to C-Jean on Boxing Day for the 35 Euros lunch offer. This is a great deal for a Michelin starred restaurant. The non-meat option - a pollock dish - was perfectly succulent and flakey. The wine list includes traditional options and a few 'discovery' alternatives including an exquisitly dry Portugese white. Coffee and tea were served... More

It was a long time since we went to this restaurant. In the meantime there was a change of chef, so we were curious about the kitchen's level. We were delighted about the mix of fresh ingredients, well presented, good service and a good wine. The restaurant was crowded and this caused a lot of noise, the only negative aspect... More

We had dinner here with friends in October 2012. Small, intimate restaurant with a contemporary style (wood, concrete, white, inox) and good lighting. Service was swift and friendly throughout the evening. Complex champagne by the glass (Tarlant), a rather limited wine-list but with good choices from around the world. We picked comfort wines: a Muga white and Norton red. We... More

It's difficult to rate this restaurant's quality as it was serving some excellent creations, but mixing it with slightly less successful choices. And serving cultured sea bream fillets (although excellently prepared) as red mullet without notice is absolutely not done in a place like this. Decent food, but overpriced.

My wife and I had the set lunch. An absolute delight, fantastic and attentive service from start to finish. Although the menus are available in English, they are minimalist and only list the central item of the dish. But you won't care, because all of the food is simply fantastic, a pleasure to look at and eat, right up to... More

I beleive that this is one of the best restaurants in Ghent, very bland exterior, looks like a shop and the C-Jean sign is hard to make out on the front door in the daytime. We went on a Friday night having booked a few days earlier. A family run concern that works really well, the ambience is excellent, service... More
