Wonderful homey cafe just a short walk from Korenmarkt. Extensive menu of coffee drinks, teas, lemonades, beers and wines. Huge sandwiches -- 12 inches seeded role created with about a dozen "insides". The salmon was wonderful. The bacon and fried egg was huge. The lentil and the cassava soups were gigantic servings and so tasty, served with a fresh Kaiser... More

We tried a chicken and a vegetarian dish, not knowing what to expect, and both were superb. Tasty, well cooked and very reasonably priced. Good choice of beer and deserts as well. We were there early evening, so not so busy.

We had flagged this place to try and then stumbled upon it on a rainy afternoon. It looked so inviting with candles everywhere (even though it was only 2pm). It added to the relaxed, cosiness of the place. Plenty of regulars there, along with a few of us tourists. There is quite a choice of food and our portions were... More

Owned by the same people as the Faja Lobi B&B, this is more than a cafe, with some decent food - mostly Creole, and some nice looking Indian dishes. Chicken satay was moist and tender, excellent sauce - made in-house, rather than bought in. Fish creole was also very good, and the wine was good. Very fairly priced, and friendly... More

I came to this restaurant after I heard many good reviews about it. I was disappointed with my dish. It was served super hot, steam coming out, with a smell of overcooked chicken and soaked in a sauce which tasted bland. It seems they are rushing in the kitchen, cooking everything on high temperature, and don't spend enough time to... More

I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. We were served a GIGANTIC bowl of delicious soup and rice, a massive, filled-to-overflowing sandwich that was enough for the two of us, tea and coffee with free cake on the side, and all by one wonderfully cool woman running the shop by herself. The cafe is comfortable, has a... More

First impression was a bit negative but after all, the Faja Lobi restaurant turned out to be a great place with a laidback atmosphere. Young people getting in and out give the place kind of a backpackers feeling. Two friendly Surinam guys took care of the orders. We had great and typical meal soups (with fresh bread) for only 4... I didn't stay there but the cafe has a cheap, delicious and varied breakfast, both hot and cold food, that is open early hours and also has free wifi

A nice spot, but not one I'd race to...still, as most places in Belgium, you get to linger at your table, and as an American used to waitstaff impatient to flip a table? This is a big plus..Still, I would not go out of my way for this one."
