I had an amazing vegan lunch in the Michelin starred restaurant L’Essentiel in Temploux (Wallonia). We called one day ahead to ask whether it was possible to eat a vegan menu as this wasn’t advertised on their own website nor on the ViaMichelin site. The lady on the phone (owner) said directly: “OK, no animal ingredients at all right?” This... More

I have been treated to dinner here on 2 occasions and both visits were out of this world. The food was divine, the wine choices spot on, the service excellent. Easily among the best meals I have ever tasted. If you get the chance to go, you really must.

I've been to this restaurant to celebrate many special occasions and I've never been disappointed. Through the years, these couple who run this resto in such a great tandem has maintained consistency from the series of mise-en-bouche to the irresistible wide choices of well-selected "fromages" and the array of calorie-worth-desserts that follow it. What makes l'Essentiel even more exceptional for... More

we experience a very slow service (not enough people for the number of tables) and we were very astonished with the "help yourself" remark of one of the waiter. The food was nice but without extraordinary discovering. Finally a very broad but so expensive wine choice make this evening not a remarkable one.

Expensive for what you get ... We tried 3 different main courses and 2 of them were not at the level of the expectation : the meat was not cooked at the best (poule faisande and chevreuille) and very poor quantity for the vegetables (different mixtures or puree). The restaurant is a nice place and the service was perfect. The... More

Since a couple of years, I visit this restaurant with a nearby customer and every time, we are surprised of the value one gets for the price of 50€/pp for a 3 course business lunch, including wines and coffee. This restaurant should be an example!

Visited here on Valentines day the restaurant was very busy we had the Menu Dégustation with the wine selection. The restaurant interior is very pretty and creates a lovely romantic atmosphere with lit candles and red roses on the table. The food is beautifully prepared, delicious and the selection of freshly baked breads (particularly the parmesan) mouth watering. Food wise... More

This is a one-Michelin star restaurant but deserves more! We've been here more than 10 times since we've discovered it in 2008 and never have we been disappointed. Food and wine are always exceptional and service is warm and efficient. Always better to book as every time we fancy to dine there on last minute basis, it's always fully booked.

Difficult to discover ( easy with a GPS ! ) but five minutes from the crossing A 15 / A 4 or E 411 / E 42 Exact address B-5020 Temploux ( with a small GA airport ) rue Roger Clement 32 Delicious and quiet place . Fabulous outdoor meals under "tonnelles" but be careful with the Belgian showers ;-)... More
