I went here with two friends. It is many years since my last visit. I remember it as a pub with plenty of local atmosphere. On this occasion we were the only diners. Obviously there could be little atmosphere. The dining area looked as if it needed a good renovation. I like old things but only if they look cared... More

We booked and visited the Reindeer Inn after completing a Hospice walk, so were ready for a lovely hot meal. That is exactly what we got, good home cooked food. The menu had a very wide choice of food and value for money was very good. The Pub is a little like walking back in time as far as the... More

Our visit today to the Reindeer was most enjoyable. Everything was freshly cooked to perfection, we will certainly be returning.

I was here a few months ago. Exellent service, cold beer, very interesting people and great landscape with the view of old coal mine. I would like to come back for that local beer and to feel the atmosphere of that place.

Visited on Feb 27 to try the Cap House beers on recommendation of CAMRA but sadly both the ones we tried were not in good condition: unusually we left them. Surprised, having seen the reviews here, to find the food was average. Chips and salad were good. Garlic prawns were overcooked. The spinach and ricotta cannelloni were covered in a... More

An old favourite. Nothing changes here but the locals are friendly and there is a real sense of community.

We attended a geocaching event with friends at the pub. Considering the number of people (there were lots of us) they coped very well and the food was very tasty. I had lasagne which was home made and tasted yum. We sat outside, but there was a friendly feel inside and room in restaurant and they have a beer garden... More

Just arrived home from The Reindeer Inn, had a great meal, I had soup of the day and Haddock real chips and mushy peas, my husband had creamy garlic mushrooms and chicken curry, with real chips. The meal was tasty, hot and served with a smile, great service. Booked to go again. Just go and enjoy
