Good fries and excellent atmosphere in the square

Yes, the queue is long and fries not extraordinary special - choice of sauces on the contrary is wide, I like the spicy mayo! - the atmosphere is nice with the bars around where to have a beer and welcoming your take away fries. Portions are big to my standards, each time I visit this kiosk I... read more

It delivers what it promises: one of the best traditional Belgian fries in Brussels! Be prepared for longer queues at peak hours and evenings but reassured by the knowledge that it's worth it, since their fries are truly unique. :)

We met friends who live in Brussels, at a bar called Chez Bernard(not on trip advisor ?) all the bars around here, will allow you to get food from Maison Antoine what a brilliant idea. Anyway I digress, this a basically a hut that has been here since 1948 and sells snacks, I ordered a large cone of Frites (€3)... More

Best fries in the world! you can even sit at one of the nearby cafe/bar and have a drink while enjoying your "Cornet de frites". In Belgium, most of the time, your fries are topped with the sauce of you choice, which makes it difficult to eat and stay clean. Here you can ask for the sauce to be on... More

I stopped to try the renowned frites and was left a bit disappointed. Maybe I got unlucky, or maybe it was a bad day, but I found the fries not bad by all means but rather oily and tasteless. The beef croquette tasted definitely better than the fries, and the mustard for the croquette even better.

Although the frites are not special and the queue can be long, prices are friendly and the atmosphere of the square - with cafes welcoming frites - is unique. Enjoy!

Came across this little place quite by accident when having a wander through Brussels. Was intrigued by the queues of people either side of the shack who were patiently waiting their turn to order. Decided to join them and was happy that the time waited was shorter than other reviewers have described. Order a cone with mayonnaise and a frikadellen... More

It's probably the hype around this old shop that makes you go there. The fries as just as you would buy them from any other shop at half the price.

This is a famous chip shop and rightly so. The chips are perfect and the portions generous. Yes you may have to wait for 20 minutes and there is no seating, but you can eat your food in the bars in the square (they have signs to that effect) so you can sit down and have a beer at the... More

Our guide book recommended this place for the best frites in Brussels and we were not disappointed! They were gorgeous and we couldn't recommend them more! Have them with the mayo. If you're in Brussels, you have to get some frites from here!
