Best frites in Brussels?

I visited in the late afternoon on a weekday and there wasn't a line. I thought the frites were tasty, but I had better in Ghent the day before. It was worth the journey though, to find these frites.

The fries were OK, the traditional mayonaise was served along with it. In a container. They were edible and pretty OK. The only things I encountered: - an hour wait for a portion of fries is LONG and the quality isn't that perfect for an hour long wait (my home town in the Netherlands has fries that are as good... Being Belgian I should know what good fries taste like. Well, certainly not like the ones they serve at Maison Antoine. If you want the smell of fries boiled in fat that has been used hundred times or more, if a lack of hygiene makes you happy, then this is the place to visit. If not, stay away and avoid... More

If you are in Brussels ... and do not mind deep fried fare (I think they use animal fat but not 100 percent sure) these fries are really good. Worth the line....local bars ok with taking them to their places .... So beer and fries...yum

The fries are really really, good, huge lines in summer. Belgians and tourists alike love these fries, fried in animal fat with tartare sauce or samourai or mayo. The other snacks that they offer though are below average, cheese balls or hamburgers...no, just no.

Unbelievably yummy! Those are not normal chips (and be careful not to call them like this!) because these are real authentic Belgian Fries! The place is very simple. There are no seats, it's only for take away. But you can relax and seat on one of the benches of the square where the place is located or you can also... More

Once i was staying in the queue for 10 minutes only and in a few days already for 40 minutes. The best sauce the frites go with is tartar for me. Very, very tasty. You are welcome to go to the nearest bar with frites and have some beer.

Have tried frites in other places in Brussels and think here at Maison Antoine they're the best. Had mine with carbbonade which was delicious. You can take your frites and sit in one of the bars on the square and enjoy a beer at the same time. It's great - make an evening of it.

Since Brussels is known for its frites, one really should give them a try. There was a line with a wait, about 15 minutes for us, and the frites were served in a paper cone with the sauce of your choice. Fried twice in beef fat, they are wonderfully crispy on the outside but with a nice soft center. I... More
