Great little place near Grand Place

We took some clients here for dinner one night when we were visiting from London, on their recommendation. At first glance the restaurant looks very basic in its decor, and quite old. The tables are long and narrow. Plate, paper napkin are directly on the stone. You sit at right angle or side by side. The noise is high. The food makes it all worthwhile.

L'Ogenblik is placed in a busy restaurant hub area, just off the magnificent arcade, and could easily have ended up as a tourist trap, but has retained its integritry and quality. I've had lunch there several times before - sort of a tradition, but this time I was there in the evening as part of a group of 9 people.... More

Wonderful location, beautiful building, friendly staff, excellent cooking, but the quality of the actual food let this restaurant down for me. We had the entrecôte and the Turbot. Both were wonderfully cooked, but quite tasteless. Given the high prices in this restaurant, I was very disappointed as I had chosen it for a special night out believing I couldn't go... More

This was right around the corner from our hotel and came highly recommended and we're so glad we tried it We've never had more delicious mozzarella in the Caprese salad, and the subtle pesto accent was perfect. We each had the turbot, cooked with herbs and wine in a foil wrapper, with fresh snap peas and carrots. WOW!! This was... More

in a very busy area, this old style restaurant serves traditional and well prepared food. I was not entirely convinced by my tuna, but the cabillaud of my buddy was excellent. Prices are reasonable, mid range. Service is very polite and friendly and efficient. I would go back.

L'Ogenblik feels timeless, and it is a welcome haven after walking through the labyrinth of touristy restaurants in the streets near the Grande Place. It would be interesting just for its location in the Galerie des Princes (a branch of the Galeries Saint Hubert), but the food is first rate - fresh ingredients, excellent preparation (nothing cutting edge but perfectly... I have eaten here no fewer than 30 times going back to the ealry 1980s and as recently as last year. The place is unchanged in that period. The food is very consistent and high quality. This is no tourist trap like you will find in this area. The only caution I have is that there are number of regulars... More

L'Ogenblik is the perfect restaurant for anyone visiting Brussels who wants to lay down the cash for a nice dinner, yet actually get their money's worth. My fiancee had one of the best (and largest) pieces of grilled salmon that we've ever had, and I ordered an equally delicious slab of grilled, rare tuna. The waiters were all incredibly helpful... We were seated near the bar with a view of the kitchen. So many people came in and were greeted by the chef. The waitstaff looked like they enjoy working here and are attentive to detail. In total 5 different waitstaff addressed our needs (table of 2). The food was delicious. It was a great choice for a romantic dinner... More
