Lovely place off the beaten track

Don't go if you want a stylish interior and michelin stars. This is good honest food in a good old fashioned and we'll worn restaurant. The service was brilliant and the mussels were delicious - a little sandy but I think that was the breed. We went in march so not high season and there was a good... read more

On our trip to Brussels we had our first dinner at La Bonne Humeur on 11th April and enjoyed it a lot. They really have excellent mussels! The restaurant is small so it is better to book a table in advance - and be prepared that your table is full of "pots and pans"! : ) The owner is very... More

I live very close to that restaurant and witnessed first hand how it has been driven to the ground by incompetent management and total amateurism. I used to bring regularly foreign guests and friends there until the couple who had created the place went to Japan. Alas Those who have taken the place over have no idea about food, no... More

Our experience at this restaurant was just as horrible as the other one star reviews for this restaurant. Having used online research, including Tripadvisor to find where to eat the best "moules-frites" in Brussels, La Bonne Humeur came in highly recommended, hands down. So many things happened that I hardly know where to start. - I had reserved online as I... More

Just visited this cute little place based on the reviews here and me and my partner were not disappointed. I ordered mussels (1kg) with lardons and chicory and my partner ordered the meatballs. Both were very tasty and very filling! The atmosphere was very chilled and relax. If you enjoy mussels, this place is for you!

Went upon recommendations on trip advisor. Booked a table - turned up to a shabby chic little place, tucked away in an inconspicuous corner of Brussels! The giant (and I mean giant) mussel outside the restaurant gave away that we were in the right place... A friendly waitress made us feel at home, a laid- back atmosphere inside and a... More

This restaurant is quite inconspicuous, located about a 10 minute drive from the Grand-Place. Definitely worth the cab ride. The mussels are expertly cooked and the chips are good (not the best, but solid). Much cheaper than the tourist traps near the Grand Place - mussels for 2 with chips and 2 beers only costs €32.

Friendly staff, very, very tasty moules. Great little restaurant. No frills, small and cosy. Loved it. Huge choice of different mussels sauce as well. Will definitely be back.

A group of a dozen came for an evening meal in this cafe-style 'restaurant'. It was more like fawlty towers. We were met by a confused waiter who assumed we were going to be speaking flemish (after a booking by the hotel). After an hour we had our beers, but all the wrong ones but he didn't care and walked... More

As when we travel food tasting is probably our top priority, I cannot understand why this place is not listed everywhere as the best one to go to for moules frites but I like the fact that it is not included in every single Bruxelles guide as this keeps it more "secret" and intimate! It is a small restaurant in... More
