Excellent dinner

I had an excellent dinner in la quincaillerie yesterday evening. The seafood (oysters) were absolutely fabulous. Juicy, and tasty. Extremely fresh. The meat was really generous. I took a "jambonneau", (upper pork leg). Incredibly well cooked, so tender. I almost did not have to cut it, the fork... read more

Make a reservation, especially in the warmer months. Suggest you walk to the restaurant in order to get a feel of the local area. The beef carpaccio and the organic salmon were superb. Try the oysters as well. Interesting wine selection.

The Quincaillerie is a stylish place that serves good food. It's a fun place to visit, draws tourists and locals alike, as well as a lot of expats. A nice selection of traditional Belgian brasserie favorites, well prepared and very fresh.

We had a wonderful dinner on Easter Sunday. The restaurant was packed and all the staff members were super busy and we were sitting in the middle of everything - You could think, that it was unpleasant, but it was very nice! The food: oysters, lobster, chicken, cheese and profiterole were perfect added with the great atmosphere.

I agree that the atmosphere is nice, but the good was just ok - I would have expected much better for the price. The mini individual breads were very tasty - soft inside, with lots of seeds- especially dipped into the excellent grassy olive oil. The appetiser had several root vegetables that weren't peeled (why???). The main course was ok,... More

When entering this restaurant, the first thing that strikes is the huge clock facing the entrance. Then, the details from the interior surface from the past: once upon a time, this was a hardware store where one could buy any nail, screw, bolt and accessories in any size and shape. The shop fittings in beautifully maintained wood with numerous drawers... More

I came across this restaurant on a recent blog because I was looking to see more of Brussels than what the travel guides provided. This unique art deco establishment looks like it was once a bank of sorts. Today the restaurant serves a wide variety of modern dishes. Some dishes are designed to be eaten as an individual, but the... More

This is in my top 5, and I have been around. The place is great, service is on spot and on top of all the food is heavenly. From appetizers to desserts, all of our dishes where out of this world. It is expensive, but worth every cent (probably worth more). So for a fancy high end meal, do not... More

Had the opportunity to have dinner with colleagues last week. The food is excellent and not too pricy - atmosphere great - service rapid and courteous. Not the best place for a romantic night as it can be busy and very noisy. Strongly recommend - can easily accomodate large group - consider reservation even during the week.

The food never disappoints, the atmosphere likewise. The staff are very sweet but perhaps a little inexperienced. Our party was seated at two separate tables for the first 30 mins and both groups thought they'd been stood up. This was dealt with admirably by the head waiter who gave us free glasses of champagne. However, the young waitress who brought... More
