Thin line between perfect and deception

Beautifull picture and view when you come inside. But be sure not to be seated in the attic in adjurning room. Warm welcome but that was all for the rest of the relatively cool service. Really good food when they don't bring iT too fast and give you the feeling you need to leave early so they can... read more

This neighborhood restaurant stands out for coziness, cuisine and the perfect atmosphere to take friends, business colleagues or your significant other. The lobster bisque was delightful, the duck sublime and the desserts impossible to pass up. We lingered for hours and enjoyed every minute. I will be returning.

Booked this place on the recommendation of a colleague who normally has great taste in restaurants, and with much expectation went here this evening with my wife for an evening out in Brussels. By far the biggest waste of our time and money. Unbelievable. The setting is really cool I must say. The interior is unlike anything I've seen, especially... More

We dined here this evening and it was not very good at all. The atmosphere was really cool even if quite cramped but the food (we had the lobster) was pretty flavorless and the wine was just okay. The homemade shrimp croquettes and the atmosphere were the only redeeming qualities of this place and 155 euro later we wish we... More

A friend told me about this restaurant so booked well in advance to avoid disappointment and I wasn't! It's a very unique setting and we were seated on the top floor overlooking the restaurant. We did feel sorry for the waiting staff though watching them run up and down all the stairs loaded up with trays of food, drinks, empty... More

I had been looking forward to my visit here. It's something of a Brussels institution and at the time of our visit it was celebrating 25 years in business. As other guests say it has great atmosphere - the interior is lovely and it was busy with lots of engaging eaters. It's such a shame therefore that there were so... More

Had to wait for a while as we hadn't reserved and there were four of us. The decor is nice and the ambiance is good, proper loud brasserie-feeling (loud as in people talking, not music). Food was ok, not the best thought when taking the prices into consideration. The service was very slow and indifferent; the waiters didn't care one... More

I had an excellent dinner in la quincaillerie yesterday evening. The seafood (oysters) were absolutely fabulous. Juicy, and tasty. Extremely fresh. The meat was really generous. I took a "jambonneau", (upper pork leg). Incredibly well cooked, so tender. I almost did not have to cut it, the fork was enough. The size of the serving was incredible. I had a... More

Make a reservation, especially in the warmer months. Suggest you walk to the restaurant in order to get a feel of the local area. The beef carpaccio and the organic salmon were superb. Try the oysters as well. Interesting wine selection.

The Quincaillerie is a stylish place that serves good food. It's a fun place to visit, draws tourists and locals alike, as well as a lot of expats. A nice selection of traditional Belgian brasserie favorites, well prepared and very fresh.
