On a recent business trip me and my colleague ended up here for dinner. My French is poor so it was difficult to read the menu but the guys running the place were very friendly and helped translating. This is a place where the locals hang out, the food is very good and as they claim themselve they are part... More

The waiter was really impolite. She toke the order like a military officer. All in French not a single word in Dutch neither English, not even trying. The food is not so special, although I'm a horrible cook, I can make the same food at home...

Because of a technical thing, my comment was removed, but now i would like to re-post it again about my experience in the beginning of June. "Tonight I went with a friend for diner in this restaurant. Even it was sunny, we wanted to sit inside, close to the window, what was not allowed, because it was a table for... More

A 15 min walk from the Grand Palace in a low rent residential area (safe walk before dark but would prefer not to make this walk when foot traffic quietens late evening after dark) this bistro deserves compliments. Unlike a prior report the waitress serving couldn't have been more pleasant translating for us - noting many of the items weren't... More

This restaurant is my favorite place for quite a while... that's where i go if i have to meet a customer, that's where i go when i want to have some rest with friends... Not my best restaurant ever, but a fair place with good food.. Good food, good products.. inventive lunch.. Good wine and a beautiful smile.. Perfect restaurant... More

This is a lovely place very near the Meininger hotel city center. We enjoyed our meal very much. The menu is french but they will translate. As all of Europe the prices are much higher than we are used to here in the USA. It is a corner bistro that we almost overlooked, Glad we did go in!

Near my hotel, affordable relative to trouble you can get into in Brussels--large dinner salad and wine for under 30 USD in quiet relaxing place by the industrial river. Many restaurants in area.

Cosy, relaxed vibe, very kind staff, honest dishes, good music, the price is within the average. Good to know that Brussels has a hidden soulful place called "Bistro du Canal".

Visited the restaurant without having a reservation so we had to wait a bit for a table to free. Personnel was very welcoming and friendly. They offered us sparkling wine while waiting and they kept refilling our glasses even if I didn't want a second glass. While waiting we'd chosen already our dishes from the wall displayed menu. We were... More

At the end of Dansaert and right next to the canal the bistro is less suitable for sitting outside, but the old building with its seemingly original interior offers great ambience and choice of food and drinks is as you could hope for. A place for regulars and Brussels visitors alike.
