Rodger the bodger needs to go back and finish his DIY jobs!

Initially planned to go to everyday gourmet but it was busy so we went over the road to this place. Being used to chinese food from the UK I was hoping for some authentic tasting food. Simple, family run authentic Chinese restaurant. I have been there a couple of times and was never disappointed. I think it s originally Sichuan cuisine but they leveled down the spiciness :) I don't get why there are negative comments - I have lived 2 years in Hong Kong and Taiwan and this is the only restaurant in Brussels (I... we chose this reastaurant as my daughter is vegetarian and they had lots of choice, the place looks shabby from the outside but we tried it anyway, food was bland no great taste, and the toilets are down a stairs passed the kitchen , my wife and daughter said the kitchen floor was covered in mess and did not look... We were looking for authentic Chinese food and it's just what we got, the place does not look very impressive or have professional staff but delicious food!

Food here is really forgettable and bland. Decor is cliche and somehow random to the extreme including some paper adverts used as table covers. The thing that bothered me most thou was that everything look dirty. The ingredients used in the dish are low quality and you can easily sense it. That is probably less favorably Chinese food I had... More

I have been here a few times and I was never disappointed. This is not a gourmet restaurant but a simple, sober chinese restaurant with decent food. The lunch options are very cheap. Usually the service is swift and friendly. They speak several languages and if there remains a problem the menu has photo"s to help the people with less experience... More

One of our favorites when it comes to Chinese food in the small Brussels Chinatown. My partner being Taiwanese, she has her cravings and there are quite a few dishes she has trouble finding anywhere else, or if they are on the menu they are simply not as good as at Xu Ji. As with all Chinese restaurants, they have... More

It is not trendy or luxurious but go in and eat there! The restaurant is in what must pass for a 'China Town' in Brussels and there is competition enough in the area but the food at Xu Ji's is authentic and well priced. I have in fact eaten here many times over the last three years or so but... More
