traditional Brussels restaurant - correct

I had invited a business contact for a quick business lunch. We were 5 - quick, very polite and correct service. Food quality was OK, big portions. Pricing is above average. Setting is a mix between a Paris bistro and an English upstyle pub. The Copenhagen or Danish or Scandinavian touch is... read more

I had invited a business contact for a quick business lunch. We were 5 - quick, very polite and correct service. Food quality was OK, big portions. Pricing is above average. Setting is a mix between a Paris bistro and an English upstyle pub. The Copenhagen or Danish or Scandinavian touch is limited to the menu.

Feels more like a British pub than a restaurant. Smelled of cigarettes and the waitress seemed unfriendly. Given the odd vibe of the place we decided to cross the road and get a steak instead!

If you like seafood this is probably a good place to go - we didn't try the mussels but the seafood platter was massive and the fish was good. The waiting staff weren't hugely friendly but they weren't actually rude to us when we were there. It's a little bit old fashioned - the ambience reminds me of restaurants in... More

I have been here few things but the whole experience is let down not actually by the speed of the service or the food but by stroppy, miserable and impatient waitresses. The food is not so bad, the atmosphere inside is good, even with -1 degree freezing weather outside the seating outside is warm (heated), inviting, comfortable and cozy. Everything... More

I will not give this place the lowest score, because the food was quite nice. I can't say the same about the waitresses & service... Incredibly rude, unhelpful and one in particular REFUSED to speak English to us! Now I'm not ignorant and I do speak 3 languages, but I'm afraid French just doesn't happen to be one of them..... We had moules frites which were of very poor quality, the shells were almost all empty and those which were still there were overcooked and all shrivelled. The moules sauce was about the worst I've ever tried in Belgium. One of us also had a steak which was disappointingly small. You can do much better in Brussels for half the... More

The service is slow. We had a salat with smoked ham and godt cheese. It was nice - but the bread that came Long was a bit stale. The place itself is charming and the decor quite retro.

It is the first time we go to a place, waiter brings the change from the bill and decides to snatch all of it as a tip, right away and in front of us, without us making any gesture to give it away to her. Just shocking, well maybe because we were tourists. Very good location though in the shopping... More

We were looking for a place to eat outdoors, we did not had a reservation. This place was lovely, we set outdoors while sipping a freshly done carrot juice. We ordered the wild salmon platter, absolutely gorgeous, fresh and we had a beautiful glass of white with it. All in a walking distance from our hotel!

This is one of the best Restaurant in Brussels this part of Brussels. Nice, cosy, deceivingly good, Old School and to be honest everything is good. It's always busy day or night; so it's better to make a reservation
