Interesting décor and tasty food. Draught beers are good but if you ask for a Gordon's scotch or a Hoegarden you need to check if that is in fact what they have on draft or you might get a perfectly acceptable substitute. We've visited here many times on visits to Brussels. As a couple in the 25-30 age range we could seem out of sorts in here. But the waiting staff are second to none having visited many cities recently, they always come out best. Excellent knowledge of the menu and beers sold as well as specific choices for different taste buds.... More

The interior of this Brussels Cafe is beautifully preserved in all its golden Art Nouveau glory. Designed by the architect Henri Coosemans in 1909, to was initially a venue for tasting italian specialities imported by Francesco Cirio, who founded the Italian tinned vegetable. It was converted to a cafe at some point and is well worth a visit to imbibe... More

The outside seating gives you the impression you are entering a cheap tourist bar - but persist - Le Cirio is a classic temple of beer that serves Brussels premier beers beautifully and with suitable reverence. The atmosphere is in the 'grand style' - big mirrors, high ceilings and oozes quality. A wonderful place to linger.

Really great place for lunch!! For a drink, order the half & half. It's delicious and what they are known for. The building itself is full of history. We ate the croque monsieur and croque cirio. Both were delicious!!! We'd defimitely go back. Also, the service was good.

This is one of the oldest cafes in Brussels. It's beautiful decorated and the atmosphere is very nice, the waiters are very professional. They have a good selection of beers and the coffee taste good. A little expensive but definitely worth it!

We walked in for a light dinner - their recommended salad and Belgium beer. The food is above average but what delighted us is the atmosphere that we only got to see in French movies. Waiters are polite (although they don't speak English to us but they made us feel comfortable nevertheless). And... There is a cat! A shop with... More

We stopped in several times for coffee and pancakes in the morning. Excellent coffee. The lovely patina of the wood furniture and wood carvings that adorn the place make for a wonderful ambiance. Take a special look at the carved cabinet behind the bar. Staff were very attentive and friendly. They even opened up early when we arrived on our... More

We went in twice during our trip to Brussels and both times we found the service quick and efficient. I cannot comment on the food because we only had a drink both times, but the drinks were lovely (thei house speciality "half and half"), price was great, and we were sitting outside watching people while chatting and enjoying the glass... Food and service is average, go here pre opera or for a light meal,to just enjoy the wonderfully old and authentic interiors. Prices not high, can also sit outside but there are better choices if you do this.
