This place came highly recommended but, although the selection of beers is superb and the setting looks and feels authentic, the service is an absolute shambles and they were clearly way too busy to clean the toilets because the whole bar smelled like wee. A shame because this could have been a lovely bar to enjoy a Belgian beer in.

Step back in time in this busy brasserie. Good service, and the snack lunch we had was very reasonable. Try their famous half and half wine, still and sparking, for a treat.

I arrived that day from the US and was just looking for a quick baguette. Had a nice Belgian beer and a good ham and cheese baguette. It was fresh not pre done and hit the spot. I got exactly what I expected. It looked like quite an expansive menu covering all sorts of items including several pasta dishes. I... More

The best place in Brussels, authentic Art Nouveau atmosphere, I mean real Art Nouveau as the restaurant was created in 1886. Their shop-windows, the interiors - everything is worth visit. If you decide to eat their, the traditional Belgian dishes Waterzooi and Carbonades Flamandes are strongly recommended. Those are delicious. And if the waiters sometimes appear to be "busy", do... Walked in and no one noticed. Stood there a few minutes, then sat ourselves. After a few more minutes we tracked down our own menus. Then we sat there for several more minutes with our menu, not offered water or anything else to drink. All the while the waiters were chatting gaily with their regular customers, air kisses all about,... More

We came across Le Cirio on a Saturday evening after walking around the christmas markets. It was very busy but we managed to get a table. Waiter service was very good and the beer and wine delicious. An oldie woldie pub feel dating back centuries, but with lots of character. Great that the waiters are all dressed in waistcoats. We... More

A lovely café / bar in the very centre of Brussels, very close to the main square and lots of other attractions and shops. We had lunch here – not too expensive and very pleasant. Service was good; environment very nice.

wonderful unspoilt Fin de Siècle (I think) cafe. Good choice of beers and food. Gruff waiters though, who think they are superior to the customers. Quite amusing really.

My boyfriend and I went here after searching for what felt like forever for a decent bar/restaurant. The inside looked beautiful of course (and it is) and so we went in to have a beer. We sat down at a table and our waiter come over to us, ready to take our order. We didn't have a menu and so... More

Beautifully preserved fin-de-siecle tavern in two cosy rooms plus an outside terrace facing the side of Brussels' spectacular nineteenth-century stock exchange (bourse). Much fine antique detail including what looks like the original furniture and wall mirrors plus lots of polished timber and old brass. Very friendly service from our elegantly-dressed waiter. We enjoyed our draught Grimbergen abbey beer and croques... More
