Yes - get in early! We got one of the last tables on a Friday night and noticed the long lines behind us. Menu is on the chalk board only - English version not available. Cash only. Service can be a but brusque but they are quick. The food was homey and well thought out. In general, a good experience!

It's funny to say, but Trip Advisor is inadvertently killing this restaurant off! I accidentally stumbled across this place three years ago, and subsequently could barely find any information about it on the internet. It has gone from young Belgians hanging outside en masse, to polite queues of tourists crossing the street. The food was still excellent and rustic, but... More

We arrived at 8pm and waited 40 minutes. It's just a line, you don't put in your name. Once seated, the service is pretty speedy and there's a good choice of Belgian specialities to choose from. The portions are robust and the food is hearty. If you're looking for a quiet/romantic dinner, this isn't it. But if you want a... More

Despite a 45 minute wait to get a seat, the friendly staff, great atmosphere and high-quality food more than made up for it. An experience if you're ever in Brussels, and one we'll certainly repeat.

This restaurant is a must!!! We went based in other tripadvisor reports. It was a Sunday night so I thought we wouldn't need to get there too early, as it happened we were there before 7. I am glad we were as it soon filled up and they were queuing out the door! The food is excellent (sausage and mash... More

A wait is very possible, but very worth it. Fresh, hearty, high-quality food in a vibrant atmosphere, all at an extremely reasonable price.

This place is always packed which isn't surprising as the food is great and represents good value. In many respects this a bit like what many London gastropubs try but fail to be, by serving a good range of tasty food. I love the gambas served with salad and jacket potatoes is one of my favourite dishes. Worth seeking out... More

Haven't been to Belgium often enough to know what is and is not authentic, but happy to hazard a guess that this is much more like the real thing than the many restaurants in the passageways around Grand Place. Good choice, all very straightforward, no pretension, and no booking. But it was going like a fare and the food was... More

Took the advice of many reviews and got in early. It filled up very quickly. Very friendly staff, homely comfort food, and as usual some lovely beers. The atmosphere was very lively, like a good british pub. The sausage and 'stoemp' was great and very filling, washed down with a couple of glasses of Ciney, which I'd not tried before.... More

One of the best meals I have had for a long time. The crowd is casual with a pub'ish feel. Mum and I were greeted with warm smiles by staff. We went at around 8.30pm and the very spacious (hall-like) restaurant was already choca-block full. If you go with a large group best to go earlier. When seated, we asked... More
