We had coffee, beer and snacks here. The area is lively and gay. Wait staff friendly. Nothing special food wise but a must to experience nighttime fun in Brussels.

Food was basic but well prepared and presented. We sat outside on the street and enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Service was good and prices were very reasonable.

Visited here on last night of visit and firstly we were ignored. Then when we went to order food everything we wanted was not available. Had drinks and left!! After reading previous visits can say was very dissapointed in the restaurant and its past reputation!!!!

Not knowing Brussels well, we walked for an hour or more in the city centre in search of a good honest meal, at that time of the early evening when many restaurants have not yet started serving dinner. We were trying to avoid both the fast-food places and the tourist traps, and passed Le Plattesteen once without quite being able... More

For Belgians who have emigrated to foreign countries, going to this place once in a while is a must. It feels like you have dinner with your family. Same simple cuisine and nice atmosphere. Add it a good beer and you feel home again.

We had a nice Rocquefort salad with nuts and raisons, for a very decent price. A good glass of wine, and on one of the nicest locations in Brussels where we could watch the people on the street. It is in a wonderful part of the city, with a colourful crowd. The service was friendly and prompt. Great fun and... More

This was a great find right near the apartment I am staying at. Went on a weeknight and it was mostly full of locals who were friendly. The menu was a lot of classic Belgium dishes. Food was great and prices were very reasonable.

Having been recommended, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was with the rude service.... They recommended this as the best place for steaks but it was small, over cooked and very poor value, despite being cheap... The wine list was small and the wine chosen was average..... The lack of service continued until we decided to get desserts elsewhere...... More

I really like Plattesteen, it's a no-frills restaurant serving the Belgian classics, I particularly like the sausages and stoemp, always filling and a good sized portion. Not expensive. In my experience you have to arrive after 6 (before then they only serve drinks) but before 8 when they start running out of things on the menu. That can be a... More
