You can do much better in Brussels

One of the hazards of eating is Brussels is that there are so many tourists, so there are many tourist traps (places that sound good, but served average to below-average meals). Ok, so now you've had your fill of chocolate (check our Darcis ... so so good, even in a city full of good chocolate... read more

Got mussels in Brussels. Great Belgium beer, good appetizers. My daughter and I got the 3 course meal deal, was excellent.

On my last night in Brussels I had to have mussels and didn't intend on eating near the Grand Place, but it was getting late so I popped in here. The beer selection could have been better, but the mussels were very good. I had mussels in the Diablo broth which was excellent.

My review is really somewhere between average and very good, but I am giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt.. My son and I ordered two Belgian specialties: beef casserole and glazed rabbit. The beef in its sauce was good but nothing special. The rabbit was better, with an interesting beer sauce. The bread was great. Service was a... More

Our first night we had a very disappointing meal but I was determined to find a good place and I was not disappointed. It was a little pricey but the special mussel dish was delicious. Service was really good as well. The only disappointment was the beer. I didn't care for the Leffe. Last night's Kriek was much better.

Our local guide recommended this restaurant. After we were seated, 2 very large tour groups arrived. Unfortunately the chef prepared our meal after theirs so we waited a very long time. Once we did get our meals, the mussels were great. It was just the long wait that was upsetting.

In this area of Brussels most restaurants can be considered tourist traps so I didn't expect too much. However, in contrast to the experience of some of the other customers, I found the place reasonable. The moules marinière were very good, the second time I went there I had duck which was average (but still OK). The service was good,... More

Food was good and prices high as everywhere here, atmosphere was like an ordinary restaurant, cold and not special, beers were too expensive, I liked canard. Unfortunately it is not recommended, I expected something better. Service was fast and kind anyway.

Good option close to the Grand Place. Doesn't have a grand opinion of itself and the interior is a bit non-descript - but pleasant and large, with lots of tables in two adjoining rooms, so it would be unusual not to secure a table. My Zeeland oysters were big and very good, and at €15 for 6, not expensive by Brussels... When you go to Belgium you expect chocolate, beer, waffle, fries and mussels: the first four were true to form but the last one, at this establishment, was a big disappointment. Despite the reasonable price, the quality of the mussels and the service were below expectations. Don't be deceived by its location.
