Maybe I was having bad karma that day, but after visiting the restaurant, I was leaving the same hungry as when arriving. I ordered daily menu, what was a mistake, as daily menus are usually too small not only in Brussels. In my country, for 25 euro you can have the most expensive meal in luxurious restaurant and by luxurious... More

One beautiful September evening, a friend and I had the great fortune of finding this lovely restaurant during a stroll through the St. Catherine neighborhood of Brussels. The weather was perfect (imagine that), the outdoor dining area wasn't completely booked yet and the food was utterly amazing. And the wine pairing.... excellent. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

There are a lot of restaurants in central Brussels which look very tempting from the outside but, once inside, have a tendency to disappoint - particularly around Saint Catherine with its many over-priced and over-rated fish restaurants. Not so L'Huitrière! Despite it being Saturday evening and not having a reservation there was plenty of room in the first floor seating... More

We tried twice to have dinner in this restaurant and the Christmas holiday did not help. However we made it and it was worthy. We had 2 very good seafood menus: one at 25€ + 3€ supplement for lobster and one at 47€ with oysters, scallops, lobster and dessert. Plus a very good bottle of white wine. I had moules... More

I'm eaten here several times on business dinners with visitors, and have always enjoyed very fresh seafood prepared in classic styles. The service is formal, and, like in many Belgian restaurants, much less in evidence at the end than the start. I wouldn't come here looking for innovation--rather, it's a safe bet if you want to experience old-school Franco-Belgian fare.

This restaurant is one of the most historic in the area and it does feel like it. The interior is not tired but it does feel a little dated. Needs a little bit of TLC and updating. The staff were helpful, i.e. they opened the door for us when entering, showed us to our table and answered any questions we... More

I don't understand any of the negative reviews. We stumbled into this place by accident and are VERY glad we did. The owner was there and was extremely attentive, charming, accommodating and helpful. Granted, this was when they just opened at 6pm on a Tuesday night, so I can't say the attention we received would be the same had it... More

A ten minute walk from Grande Place. Friendly, comfortable and not one of the rip off places that you find in the centre of Brussels. Good, prompt and attentive service and the "moules et frites" were of the best. A nice bottle of Muscadet, a good selection of cheeses to finish off with and it didn't break the bank by... More

I wanted a classic "Moules frites", and I had some of the best mussels I have ever had I think: really plump, fresh and juicy, cooked to perfection, with some freshly cooked hand cut "frites", and a delicious Kriek beer. I ended my meal with a lovely home made crème brulée, with a perfect crunchy top. The service was extremely... More

Beautiful location and interior of the restaurant. It is located in the historic center of Bruxelles. I enjoyed Mussels au vin blanc. The portion was really big enough and it tasted delicious. Good service.
