Michelin Star Japanese - The best in town

SO happy that we finally made it to try this highly-recommended Japanese - a warm welcome, a retro style interior, a limited but tasty lunch menu...We sat at the counter and watched the magicians at work. Monsieur went for the fish of the day, fried mackerel and I for the sashimi. Both lunch plates... read more

I haven't really had any good Asian food since moving to Belgium. I had lunch here last week and it was really good. The food is finessed and cooked perfectly. I found the servers very friendly and the decor is very minimal and clean. If you go here for lunch as 2 people odds are your probably sharing a connected... More

When it's come to japanese cooking, Kamo is among the best for it's art of sushi and maki made by a true japanese master but also to discover new flavors and even with some creativity. Is is worth 1 star in Michelin ? Not sure except if it is restricted to the japanese cooking, but it is a travel in... More

THE best Japanese in Brussels, no doubt about that. Staff a little bit military style, but the food makes up for it. If you have a very specific idea of Japanese food.. forget it and be carried away!!

This is definitely the smartest-looking Japanese restaurant in Brussels suitable for business occasions or celebrations. However if you are a food lover (especially a Japanese food lover) like me, you will probably be let down by the food and the slow service in between courses. We have to wait at least 20 minutes in between courses. This is a major... More

Our expectations were completely ruined by the quality of food, lack of authenticity and poor service. 1 Michelin star? Not at all. First of all - the food. We took the Menu (60 euros): a choice of insipid, micro-starters: seviche of salmon, some vegetable teppanyaki, a piece of salty duck filet and something else... I even don't remember, so pale... It s nearly impossible to get in touch and book a table (no website, they hardly answer the phone) which is really annoying. But very much worth your patience. The menu is good value (60 euros for amuse-Bouche, starter, sashimi, fish dish with rice and miso soup). You can add a meat dish for an extra 20 euros (that's arguably... More

Delicious, extra fresh sushi, the lunch menu offers good sizes for a reasonable price a bit under 30 euros. Reservation is needed, as the place it's always full.

Such expectations that i might be slighty tough with this appraisal, but given the one star from michelin guide and the prices - expensive- , the experience failed to deliver that time. Dishes are well presented, but short of taste and uninspired. The duck was very - too - salty, and the lobster tempura greasy, spoiling the culinary experience. What... More

I've been to Kamo twice - the food was really excellent and service very good. Yesterday I was to visit their new location and... what a disappointment. They lost our booking (made a couple of weeks in advance). These things happen (even though probably they shouldn't in a Michelin restaurant) and I could even understand that if at least the...
