Simple, good, Italian food. Don't expect fast, friendly service. Just sit down, relax, enjoy wine and your companion. Good appetizers, bread and olive oil. Great entree selection. Too late for dessert, was hoping to try the Tiramisu. Next time perhaps.

This was a really nice discovery - a cosy little place next to Grand Place. The food was really good and has excellent value - for some reason Italian restaurants tend to be really expensive in Brussels. Will definitely be back and am also curious to try dishes other than pasta! Beware though, they only take Visa and cash, despite... More

Almost couldn't find this place after passing by the night before and wanting to come back for dinner. Tiny little place. A few tables outside, one large table in the middle of the room inside with 6 high chairs and then several high chairs on the periphery. Weird arrangement. But the food was spectacular. Waters spoke mostly Italian. My wife... More

This is a lovely little restaurant squeezed into an old fishmonger's. Seems family run, has no ceremony, no frills - just excellent pasta. My linguine with clams was simply perfect, my wife rated her spaghetti with ragu as 8 out of 10. Nothing much more to say - highly recommended if you can get in.

First, this is about a half of a block from the main city center. There are a ton of restaurants in the square but we found most of them to be not so good tourist food. So we wandered off the side streets and found this place. Second, the food was better than the food I had in Milan! We... More

I took a group of 10 people to this restaurant last week, Pasta Divina was our first choice but they were closed. The restaurant is close to the Grand-Place and was full of locals, always a good sign. We went upstairs into a very characterful room, that has an open hatch to the kitchen. The chef had a great manner... More

This very small restaurant is within a stone's throw of the Grand Place, but you can sort of feel that you are really in Italy for a couple of hours while eating here. There is a blackboard with the day's dishes on it, and I highly recommend that you get one of their homemade pastas for dinner. There is a... More

We tried Osteria a l'Ombra due to the reviews from others. We were disappointed. The service was DESPERATELY slow, well over an hour before we got our meals, and the restaurant appeared to be quiet at the time! Only plus side was the wine, the best sangiovese I have tasted for quite some time, but it wasn't cheap. When it... More

This is such a nice Italian place. The food was great. Good wine and nice ambience. And so close to the Grand Place but without the atmosphere of being a tourist trap. Will definitely come back.

Pros: Really good traditional italian restaurant. About 32? per person for appetizer, main dish and coffee. Touristic/historic location Cons: i would give a 5 if the restaurant was clean. They definitely need to renovate and especially clean the place. It's not disgusting but...
