Sweet little place with excellent breakfast

We stayed at the Hotel Le Grand Cloche and had breakfast here every day. The wait staff is lovely, very friendly and helpful. The coffee is terrific, as are the croissants. All types of cold drinks, juices and sandwiches, as well. Open for each meal and always a nice crowd gathered. Be mindful... read more

Having come from America on two missed flights, we checked into a Brussels hotel and found this gem at the end of our street. We had delicious lamb with vegetables and potatoes that was superb and only 16Euros! My husband had a salmon with something else? That was also wonderful. Our daughter fell ill and they graciously packed this up... More

There's nothing wrong with Houtsiplou. Just visited the restaurant (I had a burger and my girlfriend had the daily fish which was salmon today). I tested the burger as many had said that they are great. Well it wasn't bad but best in Brussels - hard to believe that. The best was the places own lemonade (maybe little bit too... More

What an amazing place to not only eat but the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. You could see people from different countries mixed in with the locals. The food was unbelievable, I had one of there burgers with gorgonzola cheese with the amazing fries of Belgium !!!! If you ever travel to Brussels you have to visit the amazing... More

I often stay in a nearby hotel and always saw Houtsiplou but only entered lately for the first time. Ordered steak with wine, which came quite quickly. Was made exactly the way I wanted it, with a serious amount of side vegetables I ordered. All in perfect combination with the Cotes du Rhone wine. Service was very friendly, English-speaking, attentive... More

Houtsiplou is one of the best places for burger in Brussels. I had the JCVB burger, which was really good!!!! The price was pretty decent for a burger!

Not sure if anyone in this place has ever eaten a decent burger but it didn't seem like it. We went while waiting for the coach back to the Airport and pretty much wished we hadn't. Staff were very friendly and attentive but the food was a major let down and was massively overpriced for what was essentially Asda quality... More

I visited the place for lunch and I asked for a traditional meal, the waitress suggested the Stoemp, it was really good a little watery for my taste but I've never tried Belgium cuisine before. All and all it was a positive experience, the outdoor area is nice and the staff were helpful.

I got interested when I saw the JCVD burger and so, being the burger lovers we are, we gave this joint a try. Very nice burgers, although mine was well done instead of medium rare, tasty fries with your choice of mayo or ketchup. Horrible tap beer, but bottled selection is OK. Two burgers and two beers put us back... More
