This is not a pub or bar, bare that in mind when visiting!

A tale of two visits... The first night we arrived to find it 3/4 full but was still served within 2-3 minutes. My wife, who is pregnant ordered a soft drink, I ordered the Gueze/Lambic which came in a ceramic jug containing about 750ml. The experience was pleasant, atmosphere good and after... read more

Alway's go here for LAMBIC & GUEUZE beer's. On our last visit the place was really full but we were served within a couple of minutes after entering. These really special beer's were superb,so we stayed and had another each. Prices were o.k. The little serving area is really cool, superb shiny barrel with big metal sign's over bar. This is... Quirky little place where the draught beer is served in a stone pitcher along with no' of glasses required, the beer is of a Lambic style which is of an unusual taste i found a bit too acidic , they also serve fruit beers and a range of bottled beers. we did not eat here but the food did smell... Little choice of beers, good Belgian beers but not so much. I was happy anyway. Worst, I was with 3 friends and we ordered a couple of dishes each, but the waiter (bald guy) didn't want to take the order because he counted 1 dish for each of us. In the end? We ate what he took to us, and... More

We discovered this place while doing a treasure hunt and we really liked the quirkiness of it. The place was very busy but we managed to order 2 x 2 kwaks with little hassle and no interruptions. Nice beer and somewhere a bit different. We didn't have any food, so can't comment on that, but we had a nice time,... More

Dingy little pub which smells, only stopped by because of the heavy rain outside. After eventually getting the attention of the waiter (watch out for the bald one), he recommended the 'palette'. We tried it, possibly the worst selection of 4 beers I have ever had. They were all completely flat. Next, a baby was crying and this same waiter... More

Selection is not big, around 20 beers, but you come here to try lambic/gueuze beers - a specialty of A la becasse. You'd better start from the beer taster - 4 beers, then select the one you like the best, or ask for suggestions - the waiter here is fun and friendly. Food selection is mostly appetizers, so definitely not... More

Went to here because of the white lambic. As beer travelers we've been in many small places in many counties, and have never felt so unwelcome. The place was empty when we arrived. The lone server was more interested in the game he was watching on his iPad then in serving customers. When I inquired to the sweetness level of... More

The owners of this bar should take this advice seriously - your staff are losing you custom. There is an arrogant self-indulgent waiter who has no idea that people don't find him funny - in fact they find him hugely annoying. I did and I watched him time & time again trying to ridicule customers for what passed as "a... More

But then there are a lot of them in Brussels. Worth a visit, the beer list isn't that vast but they have some stuff you won't find easily elsewhere (specifically Bourgogne des Flandres on draught, not to my taste but one of her favorites). Food is limited, it's not that cheap (but it's central Brussels, what do you expect) and... More
