I travel to Mechelen often for business and there are a few restaurants that I make sure I go to when I'm in town. La Boya is one of them. Serving Moroccan food (couscous and tagines) and tapas, the food is always delicious. The service is good with most waiters speaking English and an English menu available. I'll definitely go... Always the charming and not-too-expensive place with very nice food from the mediterranian region, especially the north of Africa. The have great tajines and couscouses, but I can also recommend some nice tapas dishes to share between friends. Very friendly service!

Superb location almost at the foot of a very tall white-limestone church tower. Very friendly and helpful staff. The best meal that we have had in Belgium, by far. Prices reasonable and they were very tolerant of our tired and somewhat cranky twin 3 1/2 year olds. Well worth a visit . We will be back if we are in... More

Nice place for a good meal. The food is Moroccan and honest. Very friendly waitresses that are most helpful. My only problem was the quantity: it was far too much and knowing that we waste so much food, perhaps they should do something about it. But as the waitress told me: Better too much than too little. Thank you for... More

We dont' go there very often, but each time we do we agree upont the fact that this is an excellent place to enjoy something else than our traditional cuisine. The starters just prepare you for one of the tasty tajines. Good quality for a good price.

Been here quite a few times whilst on business in town. They have a nice comprehensive menu and the service is always very good. The portions are quite big.

An excellent idea: the menu offers traditional and deliciously cooked specialities from Morocco (couscous, tagine, tapas) and a fine selection of wines and the best Belgian beers, in a cosy, warm and informal atmosphere. Sincerely recommended.

nice down-to-earth restaurant in nice area of Mechelen. They offer excellent tapa's and tajines - one should definitively try the one tajine scampi/seafood, really excellent! Nice winecard with reasonable prices as well.

Good and not too expensive restaurants are hard to come by in Mechelen. In La Boya you can eat really good Tagines and good antipastis, it has a very nice terrace and it's very nicely decorated. The service could be improved (often you have to wait a long time to get your food) and once they had my reservation wrong... More
