Tasty home cooked Belgian food!

My boyfriend and I are here on a weekend to Antwerp and loved it! The interior is traditional and cosy, with the owners very welcoming and friendly. We both went for a traditional meal and they were delicious and generous portions! The location was slightly out of the way from our hotel, but the... read more

Once in a while I come to Bolivar and I have never been dissapointed. Like yesterday when I stopped there for lunch. I had a real Belgian stew with home made french fries and a typical endive salad. Loved it! The Angus Beef and "steak tartare" is also fantastic - they give you tons of ingredients and you prepare and... More

very good lunch at 12 today. Raw steak tartare from superior quality with not too fancy and too much accessories like 20 dressings, topics, etc. Just good meat with a bit of mayonaise, onion and salad. Delicious fried chips of fresh quality. Combination of cheesecroquette and shrimpcroquette is already enough and fills up your belly well. Small lunch menu and... More

We went several times to this restaurant, and every time its delicious. Especially the entrecote is nice. Homemade french fries, home made mayonaise and the garlic butter mmmm ...also home made. A place to go back, also with friends they won't be disappointed!!

The restaurant's website is clear: "MEAT IS OUR SPECIALTY". Apparently that means they don't serve any main courses without meat. None. Our party had two vegetarians, who are open-minded about the occasional piece of fish, but that couldn't save them from having to ask for an entrée to be served as their main course. The host was very gracious about... More

Almost want to keep this place a secret as it is tucked away at the end of this lovely little city. We used to live here 20years ago and wanted to go back with the children. Restaurants have changed somewhat and we'd already had enough mussels & fritjes so wanted to try something else. Found this place on trip advisor... More

Bolivar is great, has atmosphere, a good Belgian kitchen, democratic prices. Bolivar is an honest place, you will not be cheated, you will enjoy the best of Belgium, both in food and drinks. The atmosphere is like it was many years ago, classical furniture, nice decorations. Not a trendy place this in that respect, but you will enjoy a great... More

I was a bit skeptical when we came in, close to the road and a bitt off to the side. But as soon as the waitress came out I was sold. Excellent service, she translated the menus and specials to us in English and explained what was in season. The food came in and it was in nice big portions... More
