We came here for mussels based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. We were lucky to get a table outside, and ordered mussels "Op de wijze van de Chef" (in the Chef's manner) and were not disappointed. The mussels were succulent and the broth was rich. We also enjoyed fish soup, which was quite good. This place is expensive... More

We visited Antwerp this past March, and this restaurant was a hit. Fresh seafood, prepared simply with delicious vegetables and an incredible wine selection. The restaurant is small, and you'll need reservations, and the trestle table set up might be weird or Americans...but it was awesome. Because you are kind of seated communally, it enabled us to meet Italian businessmen... More

No matter the season, this restaurant is always full of people, lots of fun with the Antwerp hospitality of owner and personnel and the food always delicious. Reservations are a must, because as well local people as some tourists frequent the place. Right in the heart of Antwerp, cooking the best mussles ( national dish) and also some seasonal Belgian... I was advised by one of my friends who travels regularly that they have the best Mussels and I must say I was not disappointed. It is not a question of how they are prepared (I had the chefs special and the vegetables on top were a bit overpowering) but the quality of the mussels themselves - small and succulent.... More

We all know that sometimes things can go wrong. In this case it was the soup (which contained by far to much salt and was not eatable) and that we have received the wrong main course (which we didnt order). However, it is unacceptable that our complains have been totally ignored. Very disappointing!

We frequent Maritime a few times a year, particularly in mussel season. They have an excellent menu of fresh seafood, knowledgeable staff, and a good wine list and selection of beers. Quite a few choices for preparation of mussels, my favorite being the garlic and cream. We often take friends here who are visiting Antwerp, and it will be one... More

This little restaurant, situated just beyond the Grote Markt down towards the river, looks on the outside just like another of the many cafes in this part of town catering for the tourists, and I was not initially impressed by the recommendation I had been given. However, going past the tables outside and penetrating within was to enter a time-warp:... More

My friend says this is the best meal she ever had. We choose mussels with garlic and cream, mussels chefs way, and lobster. It was all delicious and the wine matched perfectly. The staff are friendly and helpful. Most recommended.

Checked for decent restaurant on tripadvisor and then asked hotel for their opinion - so glad I did. This is a great place - small and with the possibility that you may have to share the table with strangers, but having travelled extensively throughout Germany (where this is common) it fund not worry us. The mussels were great - the... More
