Carrot & Paprika - soup de jour - was excellent Smoked Salmon appetizer was equally good Irish Angus Steak - simply brilliant and if you have a sense of adventure - you can even try a horse-meat steak.....leaner than beef at roughly 1/2 the price

This place is located in a little side street close to the Cathedral. Nice decor. The menu is quite large, so most people should find something they like. However this place is famous for its meat. Quite a few varieties and cuts of dry aged beef are available. We had the Cote a l'Os for two. I asked for it... More

Dear Friends, As you might know by now, I love food! Food of great quality that is. I love to try out different cuisines while traveling. When I was in Antwerp I went to a restaurant called De Peerdestal that was highly recommended to me by some local friends and I must say, after going for dinner there, I totally... More

Arrived without a reservation and ended up with probably the worst table in the entire restaurant. OK, no reservation, and it's Saturday night. So we dealt with it. Good meat -- and a couple of options for horse meat -- not something you find on every menu! First wine ordered was unavailable. Second wine was just OK. And we were... More

The food here is good but the service, if I called it woeful would be far too complimentary. It is worse than that. OK Saturday night is busy but having to wait over an hour for the second course was almost a record for me. Luckily the customers behind us at the next table were kind enough to let us... More

This attractive restaurant, located on a small street near Grote Markt, has a nice array of seafood and fish specialties, including some fresh North Sea Oysters and some pasta/seafood dishes. Although not cheap, the bill for two with a very nice bottle of wine came to around 130€, which I consider not unreasonable for seafood. Our only complaint is that... More

Excellent restaurant, famed for its horsemeat (the name means The Horse Stable). We each had a horse steak and a glass of Crianza red wine and nothing else - this was divine. A restaurant with lots of character, good staff and a joy to visit.

An unpretentious restaurant 2 mins from the centre, smallish with tiled floor, rustic walls and a central stone staircase with wrought-iron balustrade, large chandelier, soft seats and tablecloths. We chose the horse steak, a house speciality, tender and delicious with choice of sauce, or "Rossini" with Madeira sauce. Portions were ample and we did not need a dessert. (Looking around... More

My wife and I were completely ignored by the staff for more than10 minutes before being shown to our table. We should have walked away then as this proved to indicative of how this restaurant regards their customers. A horrible evening, nice decor though, but thats the only thing this place has going for it.
