The service is great, the atmosphere is exceptional and the food is to die for. Very European, my date had the horse and I had some fabulous aged beef. Great value for a great meal!

We went to eat with a large group here, on business purposes. The food was fine, as were the wines, although this restaurant suffers from the usual symptoms that an expensive restaurant has: small portions, rushed and somewhat snobby staff.

If you want great entrecote go there. The meat was cooked to perfection, so bleu, like I asked. The side fries were also very good. The lobsters in the tank looked apetizing, and I will visit them the next time I m in Antwerp....

Located in a centrally located but quiet pedestrian street, De Peerdestal has comfortable seating and an agreeable atmosphere. The rear half of the horse suspended in the air--not at all as disgusting as this sounds--and the pictures of cows hanging on the walls add to the pleasant feeling. Oh yes, the food was good, thd waiters friendly and the prices... More

If there is one thing I've learned as a Brit, it's that we make an almighty fuss about not eating horse meat! Chill out, bretheren, spare me the long face; it's delicious! Especially when you have a whopping fillet steak of the thing. It's juicy, sweet, and tender-as-you-like... This restaurant had a lovely, cozy interior, excellent service but was probably... More

It had been some time since I last visited De Peerdestal. It was Monday, a day when most good restaurants are closed in Antwerp. It was very busy. To be honest, I found the tables too close together, but luckily the people at the next table were soft-spoken. There were five of us, including my two young grand-daughters (young foodies…..)... I sat upstairs with several business colleagues and we had an enjoyable meal. The restaurant is tucked down a side street near Groenplatts and near the huge cathedral. I started with the beef carpaccio and it was excellent. Next I had the french onion soup. Also very good and very cheesy. For my main course I ordered the dover sole... More

As a resident of Antwerp i visited this restaurant more than 10 times. I love the horse-steaks and it is served with good vegetables and "frieten". When there's a crowd it can be noisy but hey , in the end it's the food that counts!

Carrot & Paprika - soup de jour - was excellent Smoked Salmon appetizer was equally good Irish Angus Steak - simply brilliant and if you have a sense of adventure - you can even try a horse-meat steak.....leaner than beef at roughly 1/2 the price

This place is located in a little side street close to the Cathedral. Nice decor. The menu is quite large, so most people should find something they like. However this place is famous for its meat. Quite a few varieties and cuts of dry aged beef are available. We had the Cote a l'Os for two. I asked for it... More
