This restaurant serves really excellent french cuisine for a reasonable price. I have been here multiple times, food is just great! Simple, but so full of flavor! You go here for the food, because the interior is really outdated and full of weird decorations. But don't let that scare you, and try their special of the house, traditional french bouillabaisse... This place has quite a confusing menu, the set menu's are really cheap at 29 euro of 36euro for 3 and a half courses. If you want something outside of the set menu, it becomes extremely expensive at more than 21 euro for a starter. The champagne was sickly and overpriced and the food really wasn't that great. The atmosphere... More

Basically, if you have food allergies, DONT GO! Because the waitress obviously couldnt be bothered enough to listen to me when I pointed out right away that I had several food allergies and which specifically they were, I ended up being served a soup with an ingredient I had told her beforehand I am allergic too. Only after I had... More

This was the high point of our recent trip to Antwerp. De Reddende Engel has a relaxed, almost downbeat atmosphere where diners can really enjoy themselves and feel at home. We had one of the set menus and each course surpassed the one before. Two charming women presided over our meal -we felt that we were enjoying their hospitality. They... More

My brother and I were directed to this charming place by our friends, the owners of Wijnbar Vigneto. We were cordially greeted upon arrival and began our evening with a glass of Champagne. The menu was classic French cuisine and making a selection was difficult but with the help of the server;s suggestions, I settled on tourchon of foie gras... More

We had dinner outside and were served by the wonderful chef. Most amazing French food, every detail was lovely, every flavor was exceptional. The atmosphere outside and inside is beyond charming, even the bathrooms had a lovely huge window with a view of the cathedral. We started and ended the evening at Vigneto down the street, and they sent us... More

There were 6 of us for dinner and a lot of "sampling" went on between us all. Everything was delicious, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Located in the heart of old Antwerp, tucked away in the shadow of a beautiful cathedral, De Reddende Engel is a treat for all the senses.

I don't get to my native Belgium that often anymore, but when I do there is a mandatory visit to De Reddende Engel with the family, for its cosiness, incredible food, beautiful location and the fact that the chef and his food make me homesick for my time in the South of France. Some of the menu is relatively constant... More

We hadn't been back for some time and were delighted to enjoy the new monthly menu, cooked to perfection. My wife chose the fish dish and I took the duck: both excellently prepared. The restaurant now looks directly out onto the street and is warmly decorated.

Good value for money, but the setting is rather drab, except for the kitchen-dining room which is fun. Nice bouillabaisse; the Provencal chef has been here for quite a while but still has the 'accent méridional'
