Indonesian restaurant Didong is located in the centre of Duinoord. The name Didong means 'stubborn'. On the one hand this was chosen for its pleasant sound and on the other to give a 'stubborn' and contemporary twist to the business. The owners of Didong gained their knowledge of the Indonesian cuisine in famous restaurant Kantjil in Prinsestraat and later at Dua in Scheveningen. The interior at Didong is simple and atmospheric and does not have traditional elements, such as Wajongpoppen. Cuisine The cuisine at restaurant Didong has a refreshing and contemporary character and includes a creative, personal and innovative perspective on the authentic, spicy Indonesian cuisine. Instead of overcooked vegetables on table warmers, crispy vegetables are served directly on side dishes. The suppliers and the origins of the produce are selected with care. For example, the roast Babi Pangang originates from free-range Livar pigs from Limburg. In addition to the rice tables and individual dishes, Didong also has speciality dishes on the menu. They change regularly and reflect the contemporary view of the traditional Indonesian cuisine. Takeaway dishes are also available.

Tasty food is presented well and served without delay in a friendly manner. The staff can help you assemble a delicious range of dishes - we suggest taking the 'half plate' option, as it allows you to experience a bigger range of delicious offerings. Staff were keen to explain ingredients and processes, even bringing these out from the kitchen to... More

While staying in a nearby residence villa, and seeing the restaurant fully booked, we've decided to go for a take-away. Two words: delicious & tasty.

It was my first in the restaurant. All comments were pretty good so expectations were high too. We had no reservation and it was full - good sign - but we were offered a table in 20 mins. The waitress made the choice for us as we suggested and I can assure everything was tasty and well cooked. Spicy but... More

We were warmly greeted and seated. The service throughout was very friendly and patient, you cannot fault it. Foodwise we had chicken loempias which were spot on. Then had one of the house specials (a plate full, I mean FULL) of everything. To be honest I've eaten a lot better, I wasn't that impressed by the nasi goreng (fried rice)... More

Went here for a casual business dinner (3 persons in total). We used to go to for years and years to Sarinah (also in The Hague) but as the owner of that restaurant recently changes, we decided to book at Didong. The 3 of us are unanimous about Didong: it's great! The menu card is very simple; in a way... More

The Hague is (outside of Indonesia) the city for Indonesian cuisine. And Didong is the best of this genre it has to offer. Suggestion: 'Babi Pangang'.
