Lovely food

Absolutely lovely fragrant food! The stroller had to be carried up, but the restaurant is spacious inside. Pork Satay was lovely.. Curries very nice and delicately flavored! Do not miss Gado Gado on menu for an added crunch to meal! Loved it!

With the apparent demise Chinese/Indonesian restaurants in Holland , in the favour of Chinese restaurants it is becoming ever more difficult to find Indonesian restaurants. Almost missed this one as put off by the ground floor Sate Bar. Fortunately saw the stairs leading to the restaurant upstairs. Not a lavishly decorated restaurant but who cares if the food is up... Ate here because a friend suggested the place. I like Indonesian food a lot and sate in particular. Even though the food was okay - but not special - I found the restaurant very sterile and lacking any atmosphere. Would not return other than for take-out would I live close-by.

While in Holland I try to enjoy Indonesian. The Satebar (the upstairs restaurant) is a simple place, very friendly staff with delicious food. The stairs up are very steep, but there may have been an elevator (we didn't ask). We had a super ristaffel (31 Euro pp) and a vegie ristaffel which was excellent. Obviously three ristaffel orders was too... More

Went to this restaurant with a group of colleagues and we decided to all go for the rice tafel - I dont think I have seen as many dishes in a long time and they just kept on coming - each and every one very tasty. try it

One member of staff in a quite full restaurant, who was pretty unfriendly and not very quick. Food was ok, but served very quickly and not, in my experience. very authenic Indonesian-wise. I doubt the member of staff was Indonesian. Won't go again, more of a cafe feel so will appeal to students and younger people as quite cheap.

We were in Rotterdam and my husband wanted a place with rice.. so we ended up here. I had first chosen the Vietnamese place down the street, but they didn't accept a credit card...this place did. There were three of us, and the food was enough for my two men's appetite. I wouldn't say it was outstanding, but it was... More

Went with a large group of 10 and had a very good time. The amount of food they brought out was obscene and much of it went uneaten. With a large group don't order for everyone. Three orders for every four people would be about right. The food was good and varied. Not sure how authentic it was having never... More

Unfriendly staff. Food has nothing to do with Indonesian food. My fried chicken was a fried piece of chicken without any taste and seasoning. Main dish does not come with rice. You are better of at KFC .

This place just lacks real authenticity of Indonesian food. It gives Indonesian food a bad name, with the over grilled satay meat for both my satay ayam kachang as well as soy chicken dish. The peanut sauce just simply tasted like melted skippy peanut butter while the soy sauce was so salty I had to down as much rice as... More
