Tasty but Pricy

I enjoy the food here. It's very authentic, portions are generous and flavorful. The service is prompt and friendly but the prices are a bit steep. It is still one of my favorite restaurants in Leiden

This was a much looked forward to second visit to the Sabai Sabai having experienced a nice meal on a previous visit to Leiden. Unfortunately the satay pork was not very appetizing, with what I would say was grilled pork covered in what was a shop type smothering of a satay sauce. The main course of fish red curry was... The food and the menu are very good. The ingredients are clearly fresh and good quality. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. It would have deserved a "very good" rating if not for the very slow service. Half an hour waiting for the starter and another forty minutes for the main dish.

Went there once - because EVERY dish costs 20€ !!! In the same street are many restaurants, which range from 12€-25€, but in the Sabai-Sabai every dish was 20€. This is just too much. The food was good, yes. But In germany I wouldn't have paid more than 12€ for what we got. Way too overpriced.

This Thai restaurant is just off the main shopping / restaurant street but still gets plenty of customers. The food is indeed very nice and the presentation equally pretty. The young staff obviously needs some training in waiting on customers. A few basic changes can do the trick like placing your drink in front and just a bit to the... More

flavorless and a bit too chewy... i've eaten squid hundreds of times in my life...i'm pretty sure i'm correct about this, though i didn't ask. the management should, of course, feel free to respond to this and make a correction. i WOULD try this restaurant again, though...the sauce WAS very good. i just won't order anything with squid/inkvis... the service... Great food and good selection. The downstairs is not very cosy so if you want a more intimate atmosphere, I would ask for a table upstairs. It will be good to reserve as the place is quite popular, guess also a lot of students come as it is close to Uni buildings. The food is very good, can be spicy,... More

Having lived in Thailand, this was the nearest we had yet in the Netherlands. Food took long to come but as one says: good cooking is an art, one needs to be patient.

This lovely little restaurant in the centre of Leiden serves good Thai food for acceptable prices. The service isn't always perfect but the food definitely makes up for that: good selection of dishes and generous portions. Note for disabled people: they only have a small number of seats on the ground floor and a steep staircase leading up to the... More

We went to this place based on Tripadvisor reviews - wish we hadn't! Food is average - honestly had better Thai food in loads of other places. Worst part is wait between the courses - in 1.5 hours all we had was a starter and an initial round of drinks. No communication from staff until we queried and then they... More
