If you find yourself in Veere, The Netherlands, as we did from our river cruise, this is an excellent way to end you day with a fine meal. There is a nautical theme as we are on the coast, but that also means good seafood. The menu is in Dutch, but our waiter translated for the eager American tourists. I... More

This restaurant is tucked away down a quaint lane, near the school and church. The restaurant has dark wood panelling, and an eclectic nautical theme. Food is mainly seafood (very nice prawns in mushroom sauce starter, and an excellent salmon main course), but they also coped well with a vegetarian (turning the brie and apple salad from a starter into... We sat in the courtyard garden on a very busy evening. Despite being rushed off their feet the staff were friendly and attentive. One of our party is gluten free but this didn't cause any problems at all and the food was excellent.

Charming restaurant, with great food and friendly service. We sat inside and enjoyed the very pleasant atmosphere. An interesting selection of wines from around the world, we enjoyed a couple of South African ones chosen by the owners on one of their visits there.

Lovely place, very pretty quiet garden at back. Vdry limited menu but what we ate was very good, even quite fancy. Superb effort for kids' dessert.

A nice small restaurant in the beautiful veere. Funny interiour, doesn't seem to have a Real 'thought' behind it, but it didn't bother us. What did bother was the food. I have the feeling IT wasn't home made. It was way too salty, overcooked vegatables and not fresh. I wouldn't return for the food. The waitresses were kind, but indifferent... More

During a weekend of R&R, my family and I went to visit Veere. Not so far from our hotel and a must place to visit. After we checked the city, we decided to take our diner in De Peperboom. There are a number of restaurants in Veere and basically, they all serve the same menu. And because the main course... More

A great restaurant hidden away down a lane. big room decorated with dark wood and nautical theme, with a local crowd rather than tourists. fabulous food - the goats cheese, walnut and lardon starter was sublime.

We spent a long weekend in Veere and discovered "de Peperboom" our last evening there. Great service, great food, great ambience, great value. The place was packed --- mostly with locals but some tourists. We were lucky to get in without a reservation. Compared to the other restaurtants and brasseries in Veere, "de Peperboom" stands out as the best.

Away from the crowds and the smell of French fries and smoked eels, this restaurant is a haven of calm, attentive service, and modern cuisine. They have just opened a shop opposite selling locally made products in traditional packaging.
