An Indonesian restaurant with a kind of modern twist on the cooking. The Rijstafel is the way to go here, you get a lot of dishes for your money and they are all cooked beautifully and full of flavour and similar to what i have eaten in Indonesia. I'd recommend booking, even on a Wednesday evening it was full with... More

Traveling to the Netherlands for 9 days, I miss home food on the 2nd day already. Fortunately a colleague brought me to Blauw to have my opinion as Indonesian on the quality of the food. I have to admit that the food taste very close to what I have back home, and in some sense cure my homesick

Looking nothing like you would expect an Indonesian specialist restaurant to look like (cool, modern, bar-like) - the Indonesian food here is excellent. If you're looking for something special, I recommend splurging on the rijsttafel (literally "rice table" - a Dutch colonial experience of rice served with multiple Indonesian dishes). The dishes came out tasty, fresh, and mostly authentically Indonesian... More

I have been to Blauw many times and alway enjoy the food and staff. I regularly cook Indonesian myself and was raised with Indonesian food so I believe I can judge the quality of Indonesian food quite well. No Chinese influences (we have many Chinese Indonesian restaurants in Holland..), excellent traditional dishes!

This is the best place anywhere for great Indonesian food in a casual atmosphere with friendly attentive service. The wait staff (mostly young art students from nearby university) was terrific explaining the menu. To further help those with dietary issues, there is an index of 9 allergies on the back and every item is annotated. The food itself was amazing... More

Restaurant Blauw is known among Utrechters for its excellent Indonesian food, aka rice taffel. In the form of tapas, you can taste numerous (literally) dishes accompanied by rice. The ambiance is friendly, and the service is of good quality. Definitely recommended!

One of the best rijsttafels I already had... Very large choice with possibility to go for meat, fish or vegetarian. Large variety of tastes and all nicely prepared. Seating is a bit narrow and the very modern style is maybe a bit too flashy... despite name (blauw means blue) red is the dominant colour. Drink offer limited. Still, to be... More
