Thai on the canal

This was a visit to a thai recommended by happycow.org (veggie and vegan finder). It was a cold Tuesday night in winter to set the scene and had been raining. Finding the Thai was easy as there is a sign at street level, descending to the canal level was a little more difficult in the dark with... read more

Down the stairs near the canal, there is the restaurant in a tipical place. The food however is the main attraction! Skip the appetizer and enjoy your curry, they are all delicious.

This restaurant can be somewhat hard to find as it is located down at the canal, but it's worth the search. The internior could use a bit of refurbishing, but the food is great. Thai food as it should be. Recommended!

I love Thai food and visit Thai restaurants whenever I can. With River Kwai in Utrecht I'm not too impressed. The location has its charms (city centre at one of the 'werf''s on the waterfront) and some downsides (no natural light and a bit oldfashioned: think dark carpet and candlelight) but the real disappointment was the food and service. We... More

It is for sure the best Thai restaurant in Utrecht, with the best rice and the best receipts. The service is also very kind. It is not a super modern decorated place but with its simple decoration makes the stays there very special, in one of the "caves" in Oudegracht. Dont miss it if you like real thai food!
