Great location in the middle of town and perfekt for a break. Take a seat in the sun and soak up the history

Went there for afternoon snack with my sister and she was shocked how rude and arrogant the service was. We live in Hoorn and have been a few times over the years, it's been going downhill - ok for coffee but don't expect a smile or anything special except for the great ambience and location.

This is definitely my favourite place in Hoorn for a quick tasty meal. The place is really cozy and the waiters are very polite and helpful. You should definitely try their fries with mayo and the burgers.

d' Oude Waegh is a historical cheese weighing station turned into a café/restaurant/bar while retaining the authentic style and feel of the place. It's located right in the middle of the old town, on the Roode Steen, the town square. I have visited d' Oude Waegh on three occasions, twice for breakfast and once for drinks, or a borreltje, as... Had a relaxing morning at this establishment having breakfast. Beautiful building , super location. Breakfast is continental help yourself. €2.50 is a very good price. Rolls, croissants, ham, cheese, yogurts ,fruit. Decent coffee. Service attentive, non pushy. Would definitely come again, and try lunch or dinner.

We spent a most pleasant evening here having sailed into the harbour earlier. We opted for the best wine and a fish dish each and were not disappointed. The service could not have been better and the restaurant was packed with the locals relaxing after a hard week. Nice to see so many young people and no fellow tourists. My... More

I have frequented this cafe for almost twenty years though had not been there in recent years having moved out of the area a long time ago. Still De Waag remains one of the highlights of any visit to Hoorn. The old weighing building faces the Rode Steen square. The main strength of the cafe is the features of the... More

There is definitely something special about having a hot cafe latte under a large weighing device in a building steeped in history. Rates highly on the 'cool' list!
